Bipedalism has a long and varied history in the United States. The first bipedal humans, the Clovis group, were discovery by Spanish missionaries in 1606. In 1775, French explorers discovered the Northwest Coast of North America and began to map its coasts. By 1805, American explorers had reached Oregon Country and soon after founded towns along the Columbia River. After centuries of development, bipedalism as we know it began to spread throughout North America during the late 19th century when humans began to migrate southward from Siberia. In Tukwila, Washington, one of these migrants was George Custer who was stationed at Fort Hall in 1889-1890 while he explored what is now Idaho Territory. After his victory over Native Americans at Little Bighorn Battlefield, many people in Tukwila began to believe that he was actually a human being who had undergone a divine intervention. As evidence for this idea surfaced from his clothing and bones found at the battlefield site, many people started to adopt Custer's persona as their own personal hero. Some scientists believe that lizards may be the best choice for prosthetic limbs because they lack any major bones that would limit movement (D’Angelo). Lizards have three toes on each foot while camels have five toes per foot (Kramer) so they should be expected t o use different types of shoes dependingon where you plan on placing your ankle holster(Snyder). Reptilian creatures like lizards: Lizards come from the order Squamata along with other squamate animals including dinosaurs however they kingdom was changed from vertebrates into reptiles about 20 million years ago when a group of fish-like creatures evolved called amphibians (Wright). Lizard populations increased rapidly during this time period thanks partly t hat lizard skin became increasingly difficult t o regenerate after being cut open so most reptilian creatures nowadays possess unique medical techniques dealing wit hinjury/disease prevention including excision/erection operations known as “felisection” (Becker & Richardson). In addition, many lizards inhabit areas where humans do not currently reside meaning we could potentially study how these animals interact with humans in order t o learn more about our world(Stiles et al.). Tukwila is a town in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. It was founded in 1884 byAFamily of Russian immigrants who had immigrated to the Puget Sound region. The town became an incorporated municipality in 1907 and has since increased its population by over 100%. Tukwila is located on the shore of Lake Union. The town's commercial center is located along First Avenue NE, just south of Interstate 5. The Town of Tukwila was founded on October 7th, 1884 by members of the Family of Russians Immigrating to the Puget Sound Region (FRI). Mr. Ivan Filippovich Karpyshevitch and his wife Natalija married on October 12th at their home in Olympia Fields outside Seattle. Their first child was born two weeks later on October 14th at 3:00 PM local time when they named him Alexander Mikhailovich Filippovitch Karpyshevitch after their father’s older brother who also had been born in Russia but died young at only 28 years old while serving with the Russian army during the American Civil War. The following year they moved into a log cabin near present day First Avenue NE which would serve as their home until 1893 when they purchased a sawmill and millrace from George Wickersham for $2,500 ($102,000 today). In 1896 they built a new log cabin known as “The Big Cabin” that still stands today acrossFirst Avenue NE from Pacific Lutheran University campus where many infants were baptized there during this early period some also going on to become Ministers or Teachers! In 1906 they bought another sawmill and millrace from John Myrick for $3,000($174,000 today). This mill would be used until 1916 when it was replaced by the current structure which still stands today known as “The Myrick Mill”! In 1912 Mrs. Karpyshevitch donated land to build her own private school which now houses Pacific Lutheran University! She pledged that all tuition fees would be used for building this school - something she continued to do until her death in 1951! Mrs. Karpyshevitch also endowed a scholarship program which continues to this day giving scholarships annually totaling more than $40,000USD!! In 1927 MrsKarpyshevitch gifted land adjacent to her school property for use as a parkland and playground which remain popular today! Later that year Mr. Filippovich passed away leaving his wife Natalija with three children; Alexei Dmitrievich (1910-1982), Vera Fedorovna (1912-1996) and Nikolai Ivanovitsch (1920-2009)! After Mrs KARPYSHEVITCH'S death her husband Alexei Dmitrievich assumed full guardianship over all three children!!! In 1931 he also gave ownership of his family's lumberyard/mills back to them!! From here through 1990s Tukwila enjoyed growth spurt with several new businesses being established including The Great Northern Paper Company (now Tyee Paper Company), Boeing woodworking factory #5 & 6(now Evergreen Woodworking), Safeway grocery store & post office #1(now PNW Grocery) & finally Rapid Transit Railway station(later Pioneer Square Station!). All these businesses are still active & thriving today!!! Today Tukwila boasts an estimated population of over 100 residents who live mostly within its boundaries!!!
