This ordinance allowed residents to use airguns only within their homes or yards, and required that all guns be unloaded before use. Airgun Use was limited to individuals who had a valid license from local government and were using the gun for target practice only. In 1934, Tacoma passed its second ordinance regulating airgun Use in public places. This ordinance allowed residents to use any type of gun with or without ammunition on any street or property within their municipality boundaries. This amendment also regulated the sale of airguns by licensed dealers. Tacoma continue to pass ordinances regulating airgun Use until it enacted its final regulation in 1959 which allowed anyone with a small caliber pistol permit to purchase and possess any type of gun with no restrictions whatsoever! The regulations included requirements that all guns be unloaded when not being used, that magazines contain no more than 10 rounds each, and that retailers must keep track of each customer’s firearms history when selling firearms
