In 1938, an auditorium and gymnasium were built on Broadway Street and in 1944, a library was added to the complex. In 1957, a water filtration plant and boiler house were built within the complex. A grocery store and convenience store were added to Sunnyside in 1978. The last significant addition to Sunnyside occurred in 1984 when an annex was constructed for the city government on Constitution Avenue adjacent to Central Park West.
Sunnyside is a small town in the Yakima Valley of Washington, United States. Sunnyside is located on the east bank of the Yakima River, about southwest of Seattle and northwest of Olympia. The population was 1,965 at the 2010 census. The name Sunnyside comes from two pioneer families who named their farm sunnyside after nearby Mount Hood National Park. The first settlers were Levi Barney and his family in 1871 and they built a log cabin on what is now Main Street. In 1907, British Columbia settler Caryl Bethune bought land near Sunnyside for $1,000 and began to build a home that would become one of the most popular homes in Sunnyside. She named her home "Bethune's Bluff" after her mother-in-law and she moved into it in 1909. In 1911, George Wernham built a house on what is now East Side Street which became one of Sunnyside's most popular landmarks. He also started a local grocery store which still operates today as Wernham's Grocery." In 1922, Harry Jorgensen erected a 3-story brick building known as "The Castle" on what is now North Side Street which served as the town hall until 1954 when it was replaced by the current courthouse building across from Main Schoolhouse. On December 4th, 1929 Mrs. Florence Doherty donated land adjacent to present day West Side Avenue between Soap Lake Road and Second Street for development into an open space known as Doherty Park/Sunnyside Drive/Doherty Boulevard/Sunnyside Avenue". This area eventually became part of White Center while Sunnyside remained within Yakima County until 1959 when it merged with neighboring White Center to form SunnysIDE (which stands for "Sunnyside Elementary District"). A post office operated at Sunnyside from 1911 until 1957; its mail was delivered through Wernham's Grocery until 1951 when it was moved to BellevuePost Office #2 down Soap Lake Road where it remains today . From 1957 until 1961 there was only one phone line - served by Mrs Doherty - serving both districts so residents had to travel outside their homes to call services; this service ended when BellevuePhone went outof business . In 1966 Microsoft transferred its mainframe plant from Redmond to Everett so employees relocated south along Sunset Highway . After years of negotiations with various landowners over access to valuable water resources surrounding Sunniesiderite Reservoir (now called Nisqually River), Microsoft finally agreed in 1984 to donate 7 acres (2 ha) north of Sunnysidedale Road just east of Sunrise Motor Inn for use as SUNNYSIDE RESERVOIR PARK

Sunnyside was a small town in Washington County, Oregon, United States on the banks of the Willamette River. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. Sunnyside is best known for its home-grown fruit company, Sunnyside Orchards. The first Europeans to visit Sunnyside were fur traders from Portland in 1846. In 1850, an American Party of five men and two women crossed the Willamette River near what is now Sunnyside and stopped at the site of present-day Sunnyside Orchards on July 4th. George Thornton erected a temporary cabin there that year and named it "Thornton's Ferry." In 1852, Augustus Eaton built a sawmill on the river bank opposite Thornton's Ferry. The mill was used until 1865 when it burned down. In 1857, John Clements built a gristmill northwest of Thornton's Ferry which he called Clements' Mill. In 1861, Augustus Eaton sold his interest in the mill to Jeptha Goodyear and moved to Springfield, Oregon with his family where he started his own flour mill. Goodyear visited Sunnyside twice in 1862 while exploring nearby Multnomah Vale but did not establish any permanent business here because he felt thatOregon lacked natural resources good enough for production by humans alone and therefore had no need for such a large flour milling operation; furthermore Goodyear found that most residents were farmers rather than merchants or manufacturers who could provide him with quality goods at competitive prices
Sunnyside is a census-designated place in Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 1907 by J.P. Morgan and others as the "East Side Settlement" on the east side of Seattle's Lake Union waterfront. The name comes from the fact that it is on the sunniest side of town and on top of a hill away from downtown. Sunnyside became an incorporated city in 1912 and annexed by Seattle in 1947, but it reverted to its previous status as a census-designated place after losing its charter city status in 1984.
