Sunnyside is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,828 at the 2010 census. Sunnyside is part of the Seattle-Tacoma Metropolitan Area. It is bordered by Seattle to the south and east, Everett to the north, Redmond to the west and Bothell to the northwest. The name Sunnyside comes from nearby Mount Snohomish which rises over 7200 feet (2200 meters). The first European settlers in Sunnyside were Spanish traders who arrived in 1792. They named their land Santa Clara de los Nubes after one of Spain's manymissions in North America. A school was built on what is now First Avenue South in 1858 and a post office was opened in 1860. A hotel called The Empress opened on First Avenue South in 1875 and became known as "The Star". In 1907 it burned down and was replaced by an annex that still stands today on First Ave S.. In 1912 a new church was built on top of what is now CenturyLink Field which became known as "The Hill". In 1925 an extension of Interstate 5was constructed through Sunnyside making it possible for people living near downtown Tacoma to travel easily to jobsites or other parts of Tacoma without having to go far out into rural King County In 1951 an airport started serving Sunnyside with Boeing 727s until it closed its doors due to financial problems just three years later; however, a small airstrip remains today less than 2 miles away from downtown Sunnyside providing access for private helicopters used by local businesses such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' home

It is bordered by Issaquah to the east, Redmond to the north, Woodinville to the west and Tacoma to the south-west. The first European settler in Sunnyside was John Leland in 1851. A post office called Sunnyside was established in 1858, and became part of King County when it was created from parts of Snohomish and Pierce counties. In 1892 Sunnyside incorporated as a village. Sunnyside's population growth slowed after World War II; however, its economic development has been steady since then. Sunnyside is known for its natural resources: oil shale and coalbed methane gas deposits are among its most notable sources of income. The town also has a number of businesses that produce food products such as fruits and vegetables, meat, poultry and eggs, dairy products and baked goods; as well as some that provide services such as plumbing or lawn maintenance

Sunnyside is a census-designated place in Washington state, United States. The population was 927 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee–Douglas Borough. Sunnyside is located on the east side of Canoe Bay, just north of the mouth of the Columbia River. The first Europeans to visit what is now Sunnyside were fur traders and missionaries who came from Russia in 1810. George Vancouver, leader of British North America'svoyage to Japan in 1789-1793, made landfall on Orcas Island about northwest of Sunnyside on July 13, 1792 when his ship Discovery reached land near present-day Olympia after sailing around Cape Horn. He named this point Colville Point after village (now Douglass Arm) where he stopped for supplies before continuing his journey to China and India. In 1847, John Wesley Powell became interested in exploring the Columbia River as he sailed down it from Puget Sound into what is now Spokane County. His surveyor/plotter Augustus Earle found natural resources at Sunnyside Cove and developed land there near what is now Hearst Park with help from local businessmen such as James Fetterman and Arthur Muhlenberg. In 1861, developer Gaskell donated 213 acres (81 ha) along Canoe Bay to the Townsite Company for public use as an open space including access to waterfowl hunting grounds and a landing ground for steamboats running upriver from Seattle; today's Sunnyside Boulevard forms one side of this parcel west of Canoe Bayou. This donation helped spur development around Canoe Bayou because it would give people easy access to goods unavailable nearer by ashore or else difficult access during heavy rains or flooding when other roads become impassable through mudslides or landslides caused by rising waters! In 1865 Wm Crain built a sawmill on what are now Erie Street and Water Street NW across from today's SUNNYSIDE PARK which soon became a popular entertainment destination with summer concerts by nationally touring bands like Eddie Cochran and Joe Bonamassa among others! A post office was established at Sunnyside in 1868; it closed operations in 1969 due to lack of mail volume but its name still appears on deeds & street names nearby until that year when it was replaced by "Wenatchee". In 1905 Elmer Stroud developed land east of Canoe Bayou close totoday's SUNNYSIDE PARK which soon became home to retail stores(including Sears)and restaurants like Big John's Cafe & Grill(later known as Starbucks), Churros Mexican Café & Donuts( later Denny’s), before becoming a residential area dominated by condos until the late 2000s when most residents moved away for suburban sprawl across town combined with environmental concerns about growth patterns associated with aluminum smelters that sit adjacent to undeveloped wetlands next door! Today much property within earshot of both Boeing Air Force Base& Alaskan Malamute Operations Center remains undeveloped despite predictions that these areas will be extensively developed over time due to their proximity2to major airports&&& Recent efforts have included planting some trees on many properties within sight+hearing radius&&& A website2was established called "GreenbeltSunnyside" which offers information about sunnyside Parks events, green infrastructure projects happening nearby etc.)
