The Spokane Valley Shooting Club was founded in 1912. The club has been a part of the Spokane Rifle and Pistol Association since 1915. The shooting range is located on the east side of town, just south of I-5. The range is open to all members, regardless of age or ability. The shooting range has been enlarged several times over the years, and now features a full-sized indoor firing range as well as an outdoor target garden. There are also three ranges for children: one for ages 4-8, one for ages 9-12, and one for adults over 25 years old. In addition to practicing rifle and pistol shooting, the club also offers training in basic marksmanship skills. This includes learning how to hold your firearm accurately while sighting it in at distances up to 100 yards from the target; how to use optics correctly; and how to properly clear suppressors when firing at targets located near buildings or people.

The Spokane Valley Shooting Club, Inc. was formed in 1899 by four men from the town of Spokane Falls, Idaho. The club had originally been called the "Spokane Rifle and Pistol Club" and began shooting at a local park. In 1903, the club moved to a larger facility on State Street in Spokane Falls. The first president of the club was Wm. Hickey. In 1912, the club moved again and this time set up shop in a building on Elmwood Avenue in Spokane Falls. They continued to use this location until around 1945 when they moved back to their original facility on State Street. In 1946 they changed their name to "The Spokane Valley Shooting Club Inc." and continue operations today as a private organization with over 120 members across five states.
Spokane Valley is a small town in the Spokane County, Washington metropolitan area. The population was 11,821 at the 2000 census. It is located on the east side of the Spokane River between Cheney and North Spokane valleys. The valley was first populated by Chilkat and other tribes of Native Americans. Prior to this time, much of what is now Spokane Valley lay within present-day Cheney and North Central Okanagan counties in British Columbia. The history of human activity in this valley dates back to at least 12,000 years ago when Paleo-Indians made use of natural resources here for their own subsistence purposes as well as trade with other groups in central Canada and Siberia. Today’s Ohlone people are descended from these ancient residents who lived here for many centuries before moving into areas such as Santa Clara County, California or Oregon where they developed more advanced civilizations. In 1853–1855, American trappers discovered gold near what is now Skagit River which led to further exploration and settlement along the river throughout the 19th century including logging camps established by prospectors during that time period As early as 1858 there were over 20 mining districts located around this section ofthe country due largely to deposits found near White Pass National Park today’s Interstate 85 flows through partsof both those national parks while also passing through most portionsof present-day Spokane Valley

In 1954, the town of Moses Lake was incorporated into Spokane Valley and the name taken off of the water tower on Interstate 95 which still stands today.
