There have also been concerns about spokane's aging infrastructureitness especially given that median age for females has increased dramatically from 19 years old in 2000 to 30 years old today (and will exceed 40 years old by 2030). This led to increasing native tourism in Spokane Valley which helped spur economic growth during World War I and II. After World War II, growth slowed due to population decline and an oil embargo that struck America in 1973-1974. However, overall economic development has resumed since then thanks to advances in technology, such as digital media and telecommunications which have made it easier for businesses to connect with customers across different geographic areas
