The history of firearms in Spokane Valley, Washington goes back to the early 1800s. The first guns were made here by outlaws and Native Americans who fought for the land. In 1868, the first law regulating firearms was passed in Spokane Valley. It prohibited people from owning or using any kind of gun without a license. This law was repealed in 1872. During World War I, Spokane Valley played an important role in supplying ammunition to troops fighting on both sides of the war. In 1918, a munitions plant was built here to produce ammunition for the war. After the war ended, the plant closed and most of its materials were used to build new homes and businesses in town. In 1969, Spokane Valley became part of Washington State and began allowing residents to own handguns statewide. Spokane Valley is a small town located in the U.S. state of Washington. The population was 12,878 at the 2010 census. By 1907, there were over 100 businesses in Spokane Valley with payroll totaling $4 million annually. The railroad arrived in 1909 when Cascade Railway bought a segment of Union Pacific Railroad's line from Seattle to Portland, Oregon; by 1912, Cascade had completed its entire route from Vancouver to Cheney via Spokane Falls In 1920, Josephine Ziegler became president ofthe United States Information Service (USIS), one ofthe largest intelligence services in America; she also founded Spokanesville Chamber Of Commerce During World War II, many soldiers and their families moved into Spokane Valley where they built churches and homes on farmlands that were confiscated by the government for use as military barracks After World War II ended, most jobs left town but new ones began to grow around education and technology; these industries have continued to play a role in local economy through research universities such as Northwest University and Northern Arizona University Today, poverty rates are low while joblessness rates are high due to retirements among workers 60 years or older There are numerous cultural attractions within easy reach including Butte Lake State Park/Neenah Dam Wildlife Preserve/Lake Sammamish Reservoir/Spokane Indian Reservation Museum/Washington State Fairgrounds/First Presbyterian Church-Northwest Passage

During this time, efforts were made to add more commercial and residential surface parking spaces to make room for development along Perth Avenue. However, these plans never came to fruition because many local businesses refused to move away from their original location near downtown due to economic reasons. Today, much progress has been made during this recent history including recommendations from city planners that additional surface parking should be added on either side of I-5 or between 15th Street and Superior Street; that two new intersections at 25th Street and Spruce Drive be renamed Neil Armstrong Way and Edwin Aldrin Way; that Second Chance Park be renovated; that Interstate 90 should be widened from four lanes down to six lanes through downtown; and that new public transportation should become available in order to improve accessibility for citizens living within walking distance of various destinations outside of town center
The Spokane Valley area was first settled by the people of Eastern Washington in the late 18th century. The area was originally called Longfellow's Valley because Lieutenant James Longfellow, who wrote "The Wagon Wheel" and other works in that region, lived here. In 1855, the United States acquired over 10 million acres of land from Great Britain in the Treaty of Ghent. This land included parts of what is now Spokane Valley. The transfer created a new county within Washington Territory, and as time passed more people came to live and work in this area. By 1870, there were over 20 settlements in the valley including: Anaconda, Boise City (now Boise), Cheneyville (now Ashton), Englewood (now Ellensburg), Goldsboro (now Gig Harbor), Kootenai County (now Thurston County), Park Rapids (later Park Rapids-Narrows) and Pullman(later Pullman-Southwest).
