Shoreline, Washington is a town on the Olympic Peninsula in the U.S. state of Washington. The population was 5,541 at the 2010 census. Shoreline, Washington is a census-designated place located in Kitsap County, Washington. The population was 1,914 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Shoreline was J.C. Nicholson in 1876, who homesteaded on what is now Day Boulevard and First Street. In 1898, A.G. Beardsley purchased land northeast of present day Shoreline from Jens Jensen for $1,000 cash. Beardsley built his home at 5240 Day Boulevard and named it after himself: Shoreline Place. In 1908, Wm Hargrave bought land adjacent to Beardsley's property and established himself as the first white owner ofshoreline proper with three houses: Hargrave House (now Pioneer Square), Beardsley's House (now Discovery Park) and Gopher Gulch Coal Mine Road Cabin (later known as Gastineau Drive). By 1912 there were twenty-one residents living onshoreline proper; by 1920 there were fifty-six people living onshoreline proper including sixteen farmers and their families along with fifteen fishermen who used Gastineau Drive for access to Puget Sound In 1922 or 1923 James Fenton purchased two lots north of Gastineau Drive from John Purdy for $2,500 cash which became Fenton Beach In 1926 Harry Witherspoon set up a small dairy operation near shoreline between Klahoose PointeRoadand WestPORT Roadknown then asWitherspoon's Farmstead until it was acquired by Pacific Northwest Dairy when that company merged into Albertson’s grocery store in 1951 . At that time the farmstead became known asAlbertson’s Playground . Along with Witherspoon’s Farmstead came several othersmall family farms suchas Coulson Farms(now part of Kent State University),Foley Farms(now owned by Boeing),Queenstown Lakes(now partof SeaTac Airport),Plymouth Key Estates and others during this time period before becoming singlefamily homes through acquisition or purchase over time During World War II many local businesses closed due to rationing but most reopened afterwards when war materials became available like Seaweed Growers supply house which operated out of an old creamery across from Kingman Air Force Base until 1958when it moved to Tacoma In 1959 Albertson's grocery store closed its doors forever leaving Shorelinesouthmost town without a commercial establishment except for one restaurantwhich opened in 1964 called Harborview Tavern which closed again in 1978 before becomingthe Hartshorne Inn & Grill later renamed Harbourview Eats & Spirits before finally closingin 2000 After retirement from work Harry Witherspoon donated his farmlandto Seattle Public Schools which operates it as Hillside High School today while portionsofthe former Albertson's Farmstead are now used for housing purposes . After years of research by community membersmany plans have been submittedfor development around Shorelineshorebut no decisions have yet been made about any real estate projects although multiple proposals are being considered for development along First Avenue NE currently occupiedby CenturyLink Field

Shoreline is a census-designated place in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,419 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The first permanent white settler in what is now Shoreline was Jamesmie Ault who came to the area in 1847 with his family. He named it after his childhood home on Puget Sound where he and his father had been born and raised. A post office called "Shoreline" was established in 1851, and remained in operation until 1959. The community became a town on November 1, 1907 when it incorporated as a city under the name of Shoreline. On July 16, 1959, Shoreline merged with neighboring SeaTac to form the current city of Seattle. In 1916–1917 two groups of Boeing employees protesting World War I food rationing founded an agricultural cooperative known as the Campfire Collective which grew into one of Washington's largest farmers' markets today; also that year shoreliners gathered for their first parade and carnival outside City Hall (now City Hall Annex). In 1923 local businessmen pooled their money to build what would become Harbor Beach State Park - which includes both Harbor Beach Golf Course and Harbor Beach Marina - followed by other developments such as an elementary school (1927), library (1929), high school (1935), wharf (1945) and new shopping center (1970). It wasn't until 1957 that Interstate 5 was built through Shoreline completely bypassing it; during this time most development stopped because there were few jobs available within miles of downtown Seattle while interstate travel increased costs associated with moving goods inland instead of using ferries or trucks.

Today, Shoreline is a popular tourist spot in Washington D.C. It was first settled by Europeans in the early 1800s and has been controlled by various groups throughout its history. The area now known as Shoreline was part of the Potomac River valley until it was acquired by Washington in 1792. The area became an important military settlement during the Revolutionary War and saw heavy fighting between British and American forces. In 1846, Congress created Arlington National Cemetery to serve as a burial ground for Confederate officers and their families. After the Civil War, Shoreline developed into a large commercial center with many homes, businesses, and schools being built along the riverbank. In 1922, Congress designated all of North Carolina's Outer Banks as part of Maryland because of its shared border with that state. This led to much trade between those two states and helped resume development along the shoreline after years of silence.
