In 1927, Seattle annexed much ofKing County including Shoreline Park District; however, annexation did not include any village or town within Spokane or Tacoma Counties as had been planned by Seattle Mayor John Denny before his inauguration on January 6, 1926. This left shorelines villages without services such as police officers or water supplies while also increasing development pressures on their rural counterparts who felt they were being taken away from them unnecessarily. On October 1st 1956 during a public hearing about proposed changes to zoning laws for King County by representatives from neighboring cities including Redmond and Everett it was announced thatSnohomish Tribe would be awarded title to parcels east of Interstate 5 along Lake Union beachfront between Angle Lake road northward (north side) to milepost 362 east then southwesterly along milepost 363 thence easterly along Angle lake road until reaching its present border with Everett at Milepost 359 just beyond Snoqualmie Falls State Park reservation line; this parcel became known as "Algonquin Way." It should be noted that there have been no changes to zoning laws since 1956 so this announcement provided some hope that acreage may yet be given back to Snohomish Tribe even though negotiations are still ongoing according to current plans it could take up to another 50 years for these plans to come true .At issue is whether those parcels located east of I-5 will ever be returned due primarily because of rising sea levels which are expected increasingly closer together due mainlyto climate change with more intense storms/flooding events making access easier for shipping larger items than has ever been possible before thus threatening many homes currently located There are also fears about how large areas like Algonquin Way may become uninhabitable if higher tides keep pushing sandbars inland creating tidal flats instead flooding communities rather than allowing people access ashore during low tide periods thereby exposing residents on those beaches nevermind future waterfront developments adjacent thereto?
