Today's cityscape owes much of its stability and recent growth to Forward - including such notable landmarks as Amazon’s Seattle headquarters building (now One Microsoft Place), Starbucks Coffee Company’s main campus on Occidental Ave., Safeway Supermarkets’ anchor store on Pine St., Boeing Co.'s 777X airplane plant (now owned by Oliver Wyman Corporation) – as well as dozens of smaller businesses that have relocated or are moving into Shoreline due to Forward's efforts. One downside of Forward's success has been that it has attracted some high-end commercial real estate developers who no longer want their properties within easy reach of residential neighborhoods like First Hill DND - resulting in increased congestion on First Hill Street between Pike Place Market & Occidental Ave., pushing pedestrians out onto Fremont St., reducing accessability for residents living near these key business districts.– although these complaints often go unheard given mayor Nickels' focus on creating larger developments rather than interfering with small businesses

Shoreline is a town in King County, Washington, United States. It is located on Puget Sound and was founded in 1853 by colonists from Denmark. The population was 1,022 at the 2010 census. The town was named for the sound that exists between Shoreline and Olympia. In 1853, General John C. Fremont surveyors discovered an area of land along Puget Sound that would become Shoreline. A post office called "Shoreline" was established in 1855, and the town rapidly grew around it. By 1870, Shoreline had a population of 2,609 people. In 1907, the Shire of Shoreline Act created a local government to manage affairs within the town limits and improve public health and morals; it lasted until 1916 when it was repealed byKing County legislature under pressure from opponents who saw its purpose as giving countywide control over shorelines rather than improving them. During World War II, many jobs were created in the shipbuilding industry which led to growth in Shoreline; however this also caused social problems due to high levels of unemployment among veterans returning home with no skills or work experience after leaving the military. In 1984, voters passed a cityhood amendment to King County Legislative District 3 which gave Shoreline city status; however this proposal failed to gain support from other towns within I-5 corridor who felt that their status should be similar to those of Seattle proper (though without itslympian advantages). In 2002, residents voted overwhelmingly against a plan by then-Mayor Norm Rice to annex what are now neighboring towns: Mason City (due westward via Interstate 5) and Bellevue (to the north). This annexation would have given Shoreline an estimated 687 residents while Bellevue would have lost about 40% of its current population density while losing most if not all its businesses currently locate thereabouts as well as much of its agricultural acreage; both towns maintain significant historical ties to their respective communities even though they are now completely separate municipalities with different governments
The first European to visit what is now Shoreline, Washington was Juan de Fuca in 1792. The area became part of the United States in 1853. The town of Shoreline was established in 1857 and remained a small hamlet until it incorporated as a city in 1907.
