Shoreline is a small town in Washington State on the Olympic Peninsula. It's known for its beauty, and for being the home of Mount Rainier National Park. The town also has a modest population of about 2,000 people. The town was founded in 1892 by Norwegian immigrants and their families who had come to work on the nearby railroad. Shoreline is named after an abandoned wharf on the coast. In 1916, when America entered World War I, many of the men from Shoreline went to war because they were needed at sea. After the war, many of them returned to shoreline and started a local grocery store. The first post office in Shoreline opened in 1896. The first school in Shoreline was built in 1902. In 1912, Shoreline became part of King County and became known as "the most beautiful small town on Earth." A new courthouse was built in 1959 and replaced an earlier one that had been destroyed by fire two years earlier. Mount Rainier National Park is located within walking or biking distance of both Shorelines schools and libraries as well as several businesses including a convenience store and gas station (both open seasonally). As with much of Washington State, there are numerous hiking trails available that lead to various points around Mount Rainier National Park including views down into Anacortes Bay below (accessible from either side of the park), hikes up high peaks such as peak 814 (accessible from nearshore), waterfalls like Pinnacles Falls which cascade down over gravel-lined rapids below before emptying into Puget Sound at milepost 0 due west (accessible only during high tide), scenic drives through forested areas with viewpoints such as Snoqualmie Pass (); while campgrounds are available closeby there is no cell service so bring your own charger!

In 1802, Nicholas-Jacques Conte designed a Binocular with three lenses. In 1884, American Isaac Newton improved on this design by adding a fourth lens. This gave him what is now known as the Newtonian binocular. The first practical binoculars were created in 1885 by British scientist John Herschel and they used four lenses each to provide magnification.
Shoreline is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in Shoreline were Swedish immigrants who arrived in 1848. The name "Shoreline" was given by Captain John Wahlgren of the USS Discovery and his men when they landed there on November 14, 1855. At that time it was located within what is now SeaTac National Airport. During World War II, Shoreline served as an ammunition dump for Japanese forces fighting in the Pacific War. The town's post office was established on July 10, 1945 and continued operation until it closed on December 12th of that year due to war surplus materials being available from other towns in the area at that time. In 1951, Shoreline voters passed a resolution declaring themselves a city government and annexing neighboring Burien into City Hall jurisdiction; this action allowed for Burien's annexation into King County following its merger with neighbouring Seattle on January 1st of that year. In 1957, Shoreline voters passed a resolution setting aside $1 million to be used towards development within their borders; this money helped spur growth within the town over ensuing years culminating with its incorporation as a city on December 15th of that year. The city has since made strides including passage of an ordinance banning smoking indoors public places (the first such law in Washington) and designation as a “ Hispanic/Latino American Economic Opportunity Borough” by the Mayor Jeff Johnson during his campaign for re-election in 2014 which helped increase minority representation among elected officials within city limits by six percent since he came to office At present day, there are both housing developments along First Street NW between Union Bay Drive and Paine Field Road as well as new commercial areas along Third Avenue NE between Union Bay Drive and First Street NW which have come about through annexation or purchase by either Seattle or King County over recent years: these areas are home to such businesses as Amazon Web Services HQ2 (formerly known as Northern Lights), Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Coffee House (opened up shop after Microsoft announced their intent to build Headquarters near Mercer Island), Nordstrom Rack & Cellar #4 - one of only two brick-and-mortar Sears stores still open inside Puget Sound - JCPenney Canada Store #611 - Macy's eCommerce store adjacent to Safeway Marketplace - KFC #5252 - Food Lion store next door Toejammer SEAFOOD restaurant started up just across First Street from Nordstrom Rack & Cellar #4 after local developer Donny Olson got interested also
On April 12, 1867, the first railroad in what is now Washington was built by the Northern Pacific Railway. The railroad was built to connect Seattle with Portland, Oregon and Points west.
