In 1893, Colonel John Troup opened the first commercial gun store in Seattle after moving from New York City. At that time guns were still being imported into the United States via sailboat. In 1907, Remington Arms Company merged with Winchester Repeating Arms Company making it one of the largest firearms factories in North America at that time. In 1923 Savage Armaments Company merged with Colt Firearms Corporation becoming one of North American's leading arms manufacturers. Today there are three major ammo manufacturers headquartered in Seattle- Hornady Manufacturing Incorporated(1967), King Armory Ammunition Incorporated(1984) and PMC Ammo LLC(1990).

The company produced cartridges such as the .223 Remington round and the .308 Winchester round. In 1928, Winchester merged with Browning Tariff Corporation and became part of that company’s parent company, Browning Firearms Corporation. That same year, Winchester began producing the first airguns in Seattle. That line included the Crosman Model 82 rifle and the Crosman Model 94 shotgun. Between 1932 and 1942, American Arsenal Company produced ammunition for both World War II and Korean War service. This ammunition including rounds like 7mm Mauser (Winchester) rounds and 6mm Rahway (Browning). American Arsenal also manufactured machine guns like the M2 Carbine and M1 Garand rifles during these times. After America's entry into World War II, production at American Arsenal stopped until 1957 when it reopened under new management as ArmaLite Ammunition Company Inc.. On July 8, 1792 Juan Bautista de la Hoz visited Puget Sound while on his way from Alaska to present-day Tacoma and saw Mount Rainier which he named after its Spanish namesake Santiago de la Huelga – who had died during a battle against Spanish forces near Cartagena de Indias (modern day Colombia). On January 25, 1851 Portland became an incorporated town when it annexed parts of Seattle following a vote by residents there over annexation by either Bellevue or Tacoma. Both towns were dissolved within two years due to their respective populations exceeding that for each municipality by about 100%. The first buildings in downtown Seattle were built between 1851 and 1853 when sections of Second Avenue were razed to make way for Market Street; this area now includes Pioneer Square and much of South Park Blocksading Streetscape district also known as Queen Anne’s Land which encompasses most or all blocks between Jameson Boulevard/International District border on the west side and Thomas Road/Old Pike (now Mercer Island) on the east side until recent times including several blocks along Elliott Bay shoreline extending into Portage Bayou beyond today’s Fremont neighborhood boundaries just southwest corner thereof bounded northward by Yesler Way/Elliott Beach Drive eastwardly alongshore edge then northeasterly alongshore edge thence easterly alongshore edgeross boundary with Shoreview Heights development lying immediately offshore thereby forming an enclave surrounded entirely but not totally limited thereto by developed waterfront lands comprising approximately 98%+ acreage since earliest developers exclusive influence had exercised thereover primarily through use only incidental Harbor Waterfront New Westminster Development Corporation vancouver real estate trustees et al may 15 1978
