Seatac is a city in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 15,751 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first recorded use of the name “Seatac” occurred on November 3, 1887 when James A. Smith located a sawmill and post office here. The town officially became a community on May 1, 1889 when all of Kitsap County joined it as one county. On January 1st 1895 Seatac incorporated as a city under the name of “Seattle City Hall” with Adam J. Brown as its first mayor Optical products were developed in Seatac during this time including Magnifying Glasses by Wernher von Braun and Kossoff Reflecting Optics by Alfred Dreyfus which helped usher in new era for American optical engineering On July 5th 1951 Seatac experienced an emergency due to an electrical fire that burned down most of downtown When it reopened two weeks later people had to be brought in from all over town because the local water system could not handle the influx of residents In 1957 seatacasMayor Ralph Buehler sponsored and successfully championed Measure 21 which would provide funding for infrastructure projects such as streetlights, sewers and bridges

Seatac is a town in the U.S. state of Washington, located on the Kitsap Peninsula. The population was 3,879 at the 2010 census. The name was derived from an Indian word meaning "a place to stand," and it is said that settlers named the town after George Washington's estate in Virginia. The first permanent settler in Seatac was James Duncan, who arrived in 1821 as part of a group of farmers led by Captain Lewis Hillman. By 1830, there were at least twenty-five families living in and around the small village near what is now Seatac Point. In 1835, David Boren purchased land northeast of Seatac Point from the original claimants to title to what would become present day Washington State; this purchase formed part of his donation for that state's capital city, Olympia. In 1850, Toklas Bros., landed proprietors of Yakima Valley and bounded along Puget Sound on their land east and west side respectively with Mt Vernon Avenue NE between them On 1 October 1854 Toklas Bros sold their interest in Yakima Valley to Zenasoff Brothers and others including John Wesley Zenasoff Sr.. They also donated two Lots within what became seatac point limits which bounded Tacoma’s First Ward on each side (northwest corner Wilson Street & southwest corner Eastlake Avenue). This donation forms today’s northwest corner Wilson Street & southwest corner Eastlake Avenue location inside present day Seatac Park Historic District boundaries Zenasoff Brothers also donated two lots lying immediately southeast of their gift on lot number 2 situated just north of current day North Thurston Highway intersection . These lots lay adjacent to present day Olympia Boulevard . It should be noted that these donations are not contiguous as one lot lies immediately adjacent to another lot mentioned earlier only within Site boundaries defined by heirs apparent under Northwest Territorial Act Organic Act 1907 passed by Legislature Of Washington Territory On 4 November 1861 issue #564of “ County Recorder” records shows purchase price for Lot No2 from Zenasoff Brothers at $10 per acre plus 6% sales tax payable when sold subject to public inspection On 15 December 1861 vote taken at Town Meeting for organization Incorporation papers were filed Name: “Seatac Improvement Society” Capital account balance $3 006 stating new society has been organized with members subscribed @$1 per month paid quarterly In January 1862 meeting minutes show President JFZeno as Secretary Treasurer

Seatac was a small town in the Yakima Valley, Washington Municipality until it amalgamated with neighboring Des Moines on January 1, 2009. The two towns had been separate for over 100 years. The first site of what is now Seatac was located east of present-day Des Moines and west of Jennings Peak. A post office called "Seatac" was established in 1877, and remained in operation until 1903. The name may be derived from the Sauk word "satchel," meaning a container for goods or a place to sit. The town began growing rapidly after the opening of the Spokane River railroad in 1892. In 1898, Seatac formed an official city government with a Mayor and City Council. The population reached 514 by 1907; however, growth slowed after World War I and the Great Depression. In 1938, Seatac merged with nearby Des Moines to become one large municipality under the leadership of Mayor John Worthy. In 1980, when King County voters passed an amendment creating seatac@comcast proposal that would have allowed Comcast to provide service within town limits without violating zoning laws, local officials responded by proposing that their own municipally owned electric company be created instead – Seattlesea Electric Cooperative (SEC). This effort failed but served as a model for other municipalities seeking municipally owned electric companies across King County during the early 1990s as competition from outside providers became more intense. On January 1st 2009 all seats were abolished when Seatac amalgamated with neighboring Des Moines to form one larger municipality via mayor initiative only
Seatac was an airport located in Seatac, Washington. It served as a commercial and military airport from the early 1920s until it closed in 1961.
