At that time, the town of Seatac was only known as a small community on the north shore of Puget Sound. Attendees at the first target shooting competition were local hunters and shooters from Olympia and Seattle. The event quickly became an annual tradition in Seatac and soon featured top shooters from all over America. Today, gun targets remain a popular pastime in Seatac. The first gun target in Seatac was a cannonball that hit a tree in 1792. The first rifle target was shot at by Captain George Stephenson on July 6, 1814.
Seatac is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 21,898 at the 2010 census. Seatac is located on the eastern edge of Seattle and it shares borders with Bellevue to the north and Tacoma to the east. It is bordered by Everett to the south and Mercer Island to the northwest. The first Europeans to visit what is now Seatac were fur traders in 1851-52. One of these traders was John Jacob Astor, who charted what would become today's Interstate 5 near where Seatac now stands. He named his new trading post "Everett" after his home town in upstate New York. In 1855, members of the territorial legislature established a county seat for King County and Everett became that seat until 1889 when Seatac was incorporated as a city. The first mayor of Seatac was George Wetherbee (1856-58). In 1886, Mayor Wetherbee convinced annexation by Bellevue which led to an increased population for both cities and also created problems for both cities because Bellevue had no right to annex any more municipalities without voter approval; this situation continued until 1907 when voters approved incorporation of Bellevue into King County as well as increasing growth in both cities so that they amalgamated into one municipality under City Hall control with a total population of 38,900 at its incorporation date (21st October 1907). During World War II many businesses closed down due to shortages in materials brought over from Japan; however all hostilities ceased on September 2 1944 when Japan capitulated unconditionally at Iwo Jima just prior thereto. This event resulted in significant American economic losses as large areas within Seattle were destroyed or heavily damaged providing little opportunity for business activity while other areas such as downtown received much needed development1 The destruction wrought by war left much material unutilized resulting in poor planning which again impacted later reconstruction efforts2 The lack of use during peacetime has caused some concerns about whether or not current zoning laws are adequate for future growth3 Although there have been success stories recently such as advances made towards renewable energy production4 Situational awareness through public input has helped ensure that redevelopment plans continue along historical lines5 Despite all these challenges, recent predictions indicate that by 2045 local GDP will be $27 billion higher than it currently is6 A number of factors have contributed towards this growing economy including: 1) continued growth – since 2007 situating itself amidst rapidly expanding suburban neighborhoods around Puget Sound – coupled with job postings throughout Western Washington; 2) favorable demographics – natives make up 60%+ of the population while foreign born residents account for only 15%; 3) strong international trade links stemming from Boeing’s operations hereabouts; 4) access to major transportation corridors including I-5/WSDOT ferries crossing Soundings Harbor); 5) attractive real estate values relative to surrounding suburbs; 6) good public schools system offering diverse opportunities across socioeconomic backgrounds7 Even though some challenges remain such as infrastructure funds being tight following several years of budget cuts8 In spite of these difficultiesseatac continuesto thrive with continuing job creation and rapid growth potential - making it one Municipality ripe for further revitalization10

Seatac was one of the first towns in the state of Washington. It was founded in 1851 by Captain David S. Mitchell, who named it after himself and his friend and business associate, Cyrus W. Dixon. The town had a population of about 100 people when it was platted, but it grew rapidly due to the railroad connection it developed with Seattle. In 1907, Seatac became the capital of Washington County and continued to grow until 1950 when King County took over all county-level government. The town is located in King County on the east side of Mount Baker National Park. It is significant for being one of the few U.S. towns that remains unincorporated and is therefore subject to local governance by its residents rather than an outside authority such as a city or state government. Since its incorporation as a town, Seatac has experienced many changes including growth in commerce, industry, and culture; however, most notably during World War II when it became one of five cities within the newly created Boeing Company autonomous zone which helped support Boeing's wartime production efforts across Western Washington
Seatac is a city in Washington, D.C., United States. The population was 20,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the District of Columbia.
