The airport renamed itself King County International Airport when it merged with Seattle–Tacoma International Airport in 1998. The city council voted 5-2 on January 26, 2009 to annex unincorporated territory from SeaTac into Seatac so that it could better serve as a consolidated municipality with all government services under one roof while also providing more housing options for residents within walking distance of both local governments' offices and all major shopping centers located within minutes' walk or less of both cities'. On February 3rd Councilmember Debora Klein introduced legislation which would have renamed the incorporated territory SeaTactics Beach Colony after retired Air Force General Norman Schwarzkopf who had helped lead development at SeaTAC during its early years before he left active service in 1992 due to health concerns related to Gulf War Syndrome On March 2nd Vote #5 resulted approving incorporation into Seatac Municipal Corporation effective immediately!

The city of Seatac, Washington is located in the Puget Sound region of Washington. The area was first settled by the Chinook and other Native American people in the late 18th century. On July 3, 1792, land belonging to the town of Tumwater was ceded to Seattle by King George III as part of a land deal that ended the Northwest Indian War. In 1851, berthac was established as a landing for steamboats on Puget Sound and soon became an important transportation hub for goods and passengers between Seattle and Tacoma. In 1886, it became a city when it was incorporated as one of nine towns in what is now Queen's County. By 1890, Seatac had become one of the largest cities in Western Washington with a population of over 50,000. However, during World War I seatac experienced significant damage from aerial bombing raids by the British Royal Air Force (RAF). The city's downtown square experienced particularly heavy damage including numerous buildings destroyed or damaged beyond repair. Many residents abandoned their homes during wartime and many jobs were lost due to lack of production capacity within the bombed-out areas. After the war ended, several new businesses opened up in Seatac which helped its economy rebound although some aspects such as infrastructure remained deficient until after its incorporation intoKing's County in 1930]. It wasn't until 1957 that seatac attained full status as an independent municipality with its own government and police force under Mayor Waddell Strouds[ ].
