In 1912, another new store opened up on Fifth Street between Main St and Maple Ave called “The Armory” This shop was more specialized than any of the othersexisting at that timeand it specialised in selling artillery rounds such as shot (shotgun shells), rifle rounds (rifle bullets)and anti-aircraft rounds (gunpowder). The population peaked at 2,023 in 1990 but has declined since then; today it stands at 1,993. The economy of Seatac revolves around its location as an agricultural center with a focus on wheat and other crops production; however there are also some small businesses that trade in services such as accounting or home repair services. There are two schools located in Seatac: one public elementary school serving grades K-8 and one high school which offers ninth through 12th grade classes. Additionally there is a library which opened in 1984 thanks to a grant from the state government.

The town was founded by Scots-Irish immigrants in 1884 and named for John Seatac, an American fur trader who had settled in the area. The first post office at Seatac was established on November 3, 1885. Over time, the name of the town changed to various other names including White Lake and Seattlerville. In 1916, a fire destroyed most of the town and its buildings. In 1929, a new post office was built at Seatac east of the old one and it remained operational until 1959. The population of Seatac peaked around 1800 during World War II; however, it declined after that point and ceased to exist as an incorporated municipality by 1971. Today there are only memories of this once thriving community from before World War II left behind when industry took over downtown areas near Seattle's Auditorium District ; today's seatac is just one block north of Interstate 5 heading towards Federal Way .
