Seatac is a town in Okanogan County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. The name Seatac comes from the first words of the town's founders, George and Martha Wininger: " Seatac" meaning "a small spring." The first post office in Seatac was established on November 6, 1892. It was renamed Okanogan on February 17, 1893 after the US state of Oregon became a US territory. On December 5, 1907, seatacs incorporated as a city. On July 15, 1959 it merged with neighboring White Lake to form one municipality. Seatac is located east of Seattle on State Route 97 and north-south State Route 811. Today, Seatac is known for its vibrant downtown district with restaurants, nightlife venues and art galleries dotting both sides of First Avenue between 12th Street NW and 14th Street NW; as well asits annual Independence Day parade which draws crowds from all over metropolitan D.C., including many celebrities who attend floats adorned with patriotic themes
