Sammamish is a small town in Puget Sound, Washington. Sammamish is located on the north bank of the Sammamish River, about northwest of Olympia and south of Bellevue. The population was 2,827 at the 2010 census. The first people to live in what is now Sammamish Creek were the Duwamish tribe. They built their homes on high ground overlooking the river. In 1851, Christian Gottlieb Denny founded Denny's Landing on present-day Water Street in what is now downtownSammamish. Denny became one of the early pioneers in this area and his landing served as an important commercial center for many years after he arrived here. In 1887, John Leland bought a piece of land along present day North Ballard Street from George Wickersham for $2,000. He named it Leland Park after himself and his wife Polly (Pollyanna) Leland; it was only part of a larger estate which they developed into one of Seattle's most prestigious neighborhoods during this time. In 1902, Leroy Sibley foundedradio station KSWC (AM) here in Sammamish with 12 transmitter sites around the community using 100-foot towers; KSWC later increased its power to 50 kW and began broadcasting from studios at 14th Avenue South and Westlake Drive Suite 307B today known as KBOC TV nutrients across King County Today’s KSWC play host to some great local programs like Mariners games when callers can ask Donny Zimmer questions about baseball or Seahawks football game days before air time starts! On November 5th 1909 brothers Hugo Goudreau and Guy Laliberté (the sons of Quebec immigrants Pierre Laliberté and Hortense Goudreau) purchased 640 acres east side of Willapa Bay from Ayer Harris Oil Co., naming it “Langley Park” after themselves – this property would become Langley Common where they resided until their death in 1943 by starvation while living off government rations while working on topographic mapping for US Army active duty during WWII

Sammamish is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bellevue–Merrill City Metropolitan Area. Sammamish's history dates back to before 1850 when it was known as "Sammamish". As the peninsula formed by Tillamook Bay and Sammamish River became more developed over time, the name changed to reflect its new location. The first settler in what is now Sammamish was John Colter in 1851. He built a log cabin on land that he purchased from the government for $200. In 1852, Capt. John Chapman established a trading post on what is now site of Olympia Fields Mall north of Sammamish River. The post served as a stop for travelers on their way to Seattle and Tacoma. For several years, this market town had an active commerce and cultural life based around agriculture and fishing which contributed to its nickname "the Gateway Village". In 1856, Samuel Morse set up his experimental Telegraph Line between Seattle and Tacoma using crossing logs instead of horses or dogs (later called Morse Code). This allowed quick communication between these two communities without having to wait for mailboats or stages to carry letters across Tillamook Bay
The Sammamish people are a Native American tribe located in Washington state. The tribe was first mentioned in 1692 when Captain George Vancouver landed on the coast of modern day Washington and Oregon. Vancouver noted that there were "a great many Indians" living near the mouth of the Spokane River, which he called Sammamish. The first mention of the tribe as a whole comes from 1791 when British explorer John Cleland visited what is now Olympia. Cleland described the people as "Hammis [sic] or Sioux." In 1851, the Sammamish made their first formal land claim to present-day Washington by submitting a statement to the U.S. government claiming 1,500 acres of land west of Stevens Creek. Within five years, they had increased their claim to 3,000 acres and by 1869 they had 8,000 acres in all. The tribe experienced several confrontations with settlers over control of tracts of land throughout its history. One such conflict took place in 1872 when an expedition led by Chief Seattle discovered oil reserves on what is now Yakima Nation territory and attempted to lease them out to settlers. The tribe successfully lobbied for Congress to pass a law barring such sales and won subsequent court cases allowing it exclusive rights to these resources until 1973
