Richland, Washington is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,974 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The first settlers in Richland were farmers and their families who arrived from various parts of British Columbia in 1853. They built a log cabin on what is now Ninth Street and Main Avenue. In 1865, the U.S. government bought the land from the original settlers for $2 per acre (1 cents per square foot). A post office was founded in 1867, and by 1870 there were twenty-one residents in Richland. The townsite was platted on December 12, 1872, by Major John Fenton as an agricultural village named after himself and his family; it became Richland when it incorporated as a town on April 14, 1907 In 1912–1913 construction began on what would become Boeing Airplane Factory No. 1 – one of the largest aircraft plants in North America at that time – located east of downtown Richland on State Highway 99W between Snohomish Drive and First Street On September 15, 1933 over 2 million people participated in the third great American air fair which took place at Seattle's CenturyLink Field; this event would be considered to be "the beginning of aviation" Since its incorporation as a city (April 14th 1907) Richland has undergone many advancements including becoming home to Microsoft's Redmond headquarters during its early years while also experiencing growth due to its vibrant commercial districts with numerous high-end shops like Apple Store and JCPenney along with well-known schools such as King’s School District #5 which merged into Seattle’s Public Schools system

Richland is a town in Yakima County, Washington. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Yakima Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Richland was George C. Beall in 1868. He built a log cabin on the Palouse River and named it "Beall's Ferry." The present town site was platted in 1889 by Daniel Webster and named after him. In 1902, Richland became part of the new state of Washington; it remained an unincorporated community until 1959 when its status change to a city. In that year, the city growth led to the annexation of much of rural Yakima County. Richland had its start as a small agricultural community with many products being produced such as eggs and chickens, flour for baking breads, oil for lamps and wrought iron for fences and gates. Today, much of what makes Richland special has evolved over time including its rich history which can be found from pioneer days up until now on local newspapers, oral histories collected over time by residents and historians alike as well as artifacts dating back to when cattle drives passed through this area monthly during summertime
Richland was founded in 1792 by George Washington and his wife, Martha. The town is located in King County, Washington. It became a county seat in 1836. In 1907, the Richland School District was created, and the current school building was built in 1911.
