The Richland Gun Slings Company was founded in 1897 by Amos S. Richardson and his sons, John and George. The company manufactured shotguns, rifles, pistols and ammunition. In 1911 the company changed its name to Richards & RichardsGun Slings Company. In 1918 the company merged with the Seattle-based Western Arms Corporation to form Western Gun Slings Company. In 1934 the company changed its name to Richards, Swearingen & Sons Gunslingers Incorporated. The company produced firearms for both American and British customers until it closed in 1977.
Richland is a small town in central Washington state, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee-based Snohomish County. The town was founded in 1849 by Jedediah Smith and his family. Richland became an incorporated village in 1907, after a vote by the Village Council. The name "Richland" comes from the Potlatch word "rich," meaning "full of goods." In 1949, when Richland annexed neighboring Lathrop, it became one of only two towns in Washington to do so without first receiving annexation approval from the county government. In recent years, Richland has struggled economically with declining manufacturing jobs and a lack of infrastructure improvements such as new roads or water systems that have helped other nearby villages such as Moses Lake and North Bend prosper. But Mayor Tony Grillhoff remains optimistic about Richland's future because he expects more people to move into the town over time; he also credits job growth at local businesses with helping to revitalize downtown areas around town. According to the 2010 US Census, there are 9,711 residents living in Richland Village (including its adjacent rural areas), 8 miles (13 km) east of Wenatchee on U.S.-Canada Border Highway 99W and 2 miles (3 km) southwest of Richland on State Route 9W; 1 mile (1.6 km) north-northwest of Interstate 54 exit 219B on SR 99W; and 0.5 mile (0.8 km) south-southwest of SR 99E on SR 9W which forms the border between Snohomish County and Wacoma County

Richland is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,752 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County. The town was founded by settlers in 1847 and incorporated as a village in 1851. In 1907, it became a city and retains that status to this day. The name "Richland" comes from the nearby river called the Richland which flow through the community. The first settler in what would become Richland was James Kipps who arrived on July 8, 1847. He built a log cabin on an 1800 acre parcel of land he purchased from John Wise near present-day downtown Richland. Kipps named his new settlement after himself - "Kipps City." By 1850, there were 10 houses and 2 stores in Kipps City with about 175 residents living there. In 1852, a group of farmers bought 3 acres (1 km²) of land northwest of Kipps City for $50 per acre ($10 per hectare). They named their new farm "Potomac", after Potomac River which they believed ran through their property. The farm still stands today within walking distance of downtown Richland and many buildings from that time remain standing including the original courthouse building which served as both justice center and post office until 1957 when it burned down; and Richards Drug Store which closed its doors for good in 1969 after serving its customers for nearly 60 years! In 1907, when Richland became a city under statehood, most inhabitants left for other parts of Washington due to high taxes associated with cityhood requirements such as fire protection and public services that were not available outside the limits of rural King County until 1958 when those requirements were repealed by then-Governor Ronald Reagan without Congressional action following pressure from local business owners/citizens! On December 12th 1909 Mayor J C Weldon announced plans to build a Municipal Building east side Main Street between Third Avenue South and Fourth Avenue North – this building still stands today across First Avenue North from downtown Richland government Center! This marks one important milestone during our rich history – starting with incorporation into king county we had our own municipal government! City Council meetings were held every second Thursday at 7pm at City Hall located on Main Street (now First Ave NE). At this time citizens could come or go as they pleased but no contributions or questions were allowed during council meetings! Citizens could also attend special sessions meeting upstairs held once every month or so if desired… these sessions included items such as elections & budgets etc., however all Lorenzo Ladd resolutions passed went into effect immediately without any further discussion!! In 1913 Council voted to expand alleys around main street leading to Post Office housing –this was done despite opposition from some members who felt that increased traffic would create too much congestion on busy Main Street causing prices for goods to increase beyond budgeted levels!!! Of course over time more lanes/alleys have been added & now streets leading up to Post Office are quite congested 😉 After mayor J C Weldon’s death in 1916 Council moved away from activistpolitics & decided instead to focus on developingRichmond into an attractive place to live….. subsequently becoming one of America’s most vibrant cities with progressive values

In 1851, much of what is now Richland was acquired by the United States as part of a land grant to John C. Fremont.
