This led to increased development around downtown which caused streets near Interstate 5 to become gridlocked during rush hours. In recent years, retail development has begun along State Way 66 which runs through downtown Renton; this includes chains such as Sears and Kmart as well as smaller businesses. Unfortunately, many high-profile anchor stores have closed or relocated within the past few years because of competition from larger chains elsewhere in King County or Seattle. Today, much attention focuses on arts & culture including music venues like Regency Ballroom and Highline Ballroom; theater offerings like Pacific Arts Theatre and Roosevelt Hall; restaurants such as Eddie B’s Prime Rib Grill and Lazy Dog BBQ;; bars like Perennial ;and creative arts studios such as Post Alley Gallery/Studio Onevaulted Space/Fashion Institute etc..
Renton was an incorporated town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census. It is located on the city of Seattle's eastside and is bordered by Bellevue to the north, Redmond to the west, Kirkland to the south, and Issaquah to the east.
