In the early 1900s, Puyallup was a small town in Washington State. During that time, the local railroads were providing transportation to and from the agricultural areas around Seattle. One of the railroad companies, Puget Sound Railroad Company, developed a large project to build an expressway in Puyallup. The expressway would be used by both freight and passenger trains. The Expressway was opened in 1933 and it served as one of the primary routes for traffic between Seattle and Tacoma. The Expressway has also been used as a bypass for other roads in the area. Today, much of the original expressway remains in use today as part of Interstate 5 or State Route 99A. Some sections have been decommissioned and are now used for industrial purposes such as storage yards or roadsides. A few sections have been reactivated as part of I-5's expansion program which has included widening portions of the highway near milepost 255 southbound and milepost 269 northbound.

The Kitsimat Bay Company was founded in 1898 by Lewis and Clark expedition leader William H. Graham. In 1916, Kitsimat Bay became part of the newly formed Washington State Fishing Federation. In 1948, Kitsimat Bay merged with two other fishing companies to form The Pacific Fishermen's Group (PFG). PIDCO was created as a holding company for PG&E in 1978. The company is now a subsidiary of PG&E
Puyallup is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 6,821 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County. The first European to arrive in what is now Puyallup was Captain George Vancouver on July 14, 1792. He named the area "New Holland" after Prince Rupert's Land in present-day Canada. The first permanent settler was David Anthony who built a cabin on the site of current day Pioneer Square in 1824. In 1842, Isaac Stevens founded Puyallup Mines and soon became one of the most important mining companies in King County. In 1865, his son John Fenton Stevens took over ownership of Puyallup Mines when his father died intestate. From its inception as a small farm community until it became an incorporated city in 1907, Puyallup struggled financially despite its location on Puget Sound and access to education and other amenities that drew people to Seattle and other cities during those years. However, by 1910 Puyallup had regained some footing thanks to strong growth in manufacturing and services such as banking and health care; by 1970 it had become one of the largest communities on Orcas Island with a population of over 20,000 residents

Puyallup is a town in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,993 at the 2010 census. Puyallup is located on the Kitsap Peninsula east of Tacoma and north of Seattle. It is bordered by North Bend to the south, Duvall to the west, Goldendale to the north and Bainbridge Island to the east. The first settlers in what is now Puyallup came from England in 1851. They were farmers who moved into what is now Kitsap County from northern Washington State. By 1870, there were about twenty-four families living in Puyallup Township. In 1881, when King George V made his visit to America and toured Puget Sound, he gave an address at Olympia calling for donations for a new lighthouse near present day Puget Sound Naval Shipyard on Bremerton Island. This event led to development of what are today known as "Puget Sounds". In 1907–08 Captain John Waddell ferryed students from Seattle's Central High School across Elliott Bay on his puntboat Blanco during Seattle Seahawks' home game against Portland Pirates (now called Sporting Kansas City). A local business owner donated land at the foot of Eight Mile Hill overlooking Elliott Bay so that students could play catch while enjoying views of Mount Olympus and Elliott Bay; this became known as "Elliott Bay". On October 12th 1908 a group of men met at Freemont Park in downtown Puyallup to organize themselves into a society they called "The Pioneers." At their first meeting they decided that they would build their own schoolhouse but didn't know where to start looking. On December 3rd 1908 Elisha Haggerty donated land northeast of Main Street between First Avenue and Third Street for $5 per acre which would become Puyallup Elementary School District No 801 today chaired by Mrs.(Deborah) Kapp with Mrs.(Karen) Brown serving as Vice Chairperson since her retirement in 2016 after thirty five years including fifteen years as Superintendent/Principal/Board Member/Director emeritus status
