Pullman is a town in Washington County, Oregon, United States. The population was 712 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bend-Keizer, OR-WA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Pullman was Ezra Stiles on May 12, 1847. He and his family founded the town on land that had been donated to them by General Joseph Lane. The name "Pullman" originates from a Homestead Act grant made to George Pullman in 1850. In 1875, the community became an incorporated municipality with a population of 441 people; it lost its municipal status in 1972. The Pullman National Historic Site is located in the town center and includes parts of four buildings dating from 1888: the Administration Building, Schoolhouse No. 1 (1888), Old Store (1892), and Post Office (1901). Other notable structures include District Court House (1910) and Masonic Temple (1898). According to the 2000 US Census, there were 829 people living in Pullman when it was included within Bend-Keizer's Metropolitan Statistical Area; this increased to 905 as of 2010 when pullmantown annexed nearby communities of Elkton, Greenock Village, and South Elmira. This rapid growth has led to some concerns about overdevelopment or sprawl within the small town's nucleus; however, many residents continue to enjoy easy access to cultural attractions such as Bend's art galleries and shopping malls elsewhere within Oregon or beyond.

This event is considered to be one of the first successful gunfights with modern firearms during war. Throughout most of the 19th century, standard infantry weapons continued to be carried with individuals wearing simple body armor which limited their ability to use handguns effectively while also providing little protection against other projectiles or gunfire from cavalry or artillery units passing behind them. The advent of machine guns and armored vehicles during World War I caused changes in this standardization process; however, individual soldiers still wore basic bodyarmor until after World War II when it became increasingly difficult to carry around large amounts of weaponry without becoming vulnerable to sniper fire or groundfire from tanks and artillery pieces moving around them

The Pullman Railway Company was founded in 1883 by George Pullman and his son, Philo. The company transported people and freight between Chicago and Spokane, Washington. In 1902, the Pullman Railway Company merged with the Spokane, Seattle and Puget Sound Railroad to form the Pacific Northwest Railway. The company remained a part of the railroad system until 1971 when it was sold to North Western Transportation Company. Pullman has been home to many famous people including America's first president, Ulysses S. Grant; architect Frank Lloyd Wright; writer Fannie Flagg; entertainer Harry Belafonte; and actor/director James Earl Jones. The Pullman Railway Museum is located in town and features exhibits about Pullman history as well as locomotives, cars, track maintenance tools, etc.
Pullman was a town in King County, Washington founded by George Pullman in 1881. It was located on the Columbia River and named for his father, also George Pullman. The first Post Office at Pullman was established in 1883. In 1905, Pullman became the seat of King County government.
