These plans have been met with criticism from some who argue that these extensions do not go far enough in ensuring that Tacoma remains a major hub for transportation in Puget Sound region
Port Angeles is a city located in the Puget Sound area of Washtenaw County, Michigan, United States. The population was 9,021 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest city in Michigan and second-smallest in Washington state. The first people to set foot on what is now Port Angeles were British voyageurs who discovered the port in 1792 during their journey from British Columbia to Alaska. The first permanent settler was George Vancouver, who named it after his home town of Portsmouth, England. In 1853, gold was discovered near what is now downtown Port Angeles and led to an influx of settlers; by 1870 there were over 1,000 residents. By 1900, Port Angeles had become a thriving commercial center with businesses such as banks and hotels dotting its downtown square. However, World War I (1914-1918) interrupted development and led to a decline in business activity until the early 1920s when new industries such as aluminum smelting began attracting workers from all over America. During World War II (1939-1945), Port Angeles saw significant involvement due to its strategic location at the mouth of Enola Gay Bay and as part of military production centers for plutonium production on Bainbridge Island off Seattle. After 1945, business activity faded again until 1970 when Don Hibbard opened Hibbard's Hardware Store on First Avenue NW which became one of the most successful small businesses in Northwest Washington State In 1990sPort Angeles experienced another growth spurt due to Increased tourism along with several expansions within both retail stores and services including high school sports teams In 2001 City Council passed a resolution proclaiming October 30th as "Port Arthur Day" in honor of MacArthur's visit two years earlier After numerous successes over the past few decades including hosting several Olympic Games events as well as becoming twin cities for Spokane/Olympia County; Port Arthur has seen steady declines throughout recent years but still retains some importance within local communities

In 1916, during World War I, Port Angeles played an important role in supplying naval forces with supplies bordered by Japan on one side and America on the other. The city also hosted large military encampments during World War II until they were relocated to more central locations around the Puget Sound area.
