Kapp and Brothers for use by the military forces of the United States. It consisted of a small round aperture in a large post, about 10 feet from the ground. Afterward, it grew rapidly again as fishermen returned to the area and new businesses opened up. In 2000, Port Angeles became an official city with its own government and police department. Today, Port Angeles remains a thriving community with strong cultural roots that are evident in its many institutions such as the University of Washington's School of Arts & Sciences and Pacific Northwest College District’s Master’s Campus which are home to some of WA’s most renowned professors including Alice Paulson-Flamm ( piano), Dr John Elliott ( poetry), Doina Chitrescu ( dance)and more than 100 students from all over WA!

Port Angeles was founded in 1810 as the town of Puget Sound. In 1851, it became a city and was renamed Port Angeles after the harbor there. The city grew rapidly due to its location on the Columbia River and its access to both Cannery Row and Seattle. The first significant event in Port Angeles’s history occurred on July 15, 1852 when a group of Englishmen arrived at the mouth of Helcitus River with their sailing vessel Discovery. They had traveled upriver from Astoria, Oregon, looking for a new route to sail down the Columbia River. They were so impressed by what they saw at the mouth of Helcitus that they decided to stay and build a trading post here. In 1861, during America’s Civil War, Port Angeles played an important role as a military port for General Ulysses S. Grant’s forces fighting against Confederate forces along the border of Washington and Oregon. The port also served as an ammunition depot for Union troops fighting against Confederate General Robert Ewell. In 1907, Port Angeles was renamed Seattle after Mayor Seaweed Stevens succeeded Wm Husted in becoming mayoralty-holder effective January 1st that year following Seattle’s annexation into King County two years earlier. However, City Hall remained located in downtown until 1911 when it moved out into one of the original buildings on Cannery Row (now known as Pioneer Square). In 1917 Queen Anne's Domain became part of Seattle annexed by King County; however City Hall still continued to be located at 1115 4th Ave SE until 1931 when it moved again – this time into what is now called City Hall Annex (formerly known as Municipal Building No 2). On November 3rd 1941 King County voters passed an ordinance authorizing annexation of portions of Olympia which included much of downtown including City Hall Annex; however only 6 months later on December 10th Mayor Seaweed Stevens announced his resignation effective December 17th because he disagreed with county commissioners' plans for annexing more land within city limits without prior voter approval- this event effectively terminated Seattle's bicentennial celebrations just weeks before they were scheduled to begin . Finally on May 7th 1946 City Hall moved back inside Municipal Building No 2 followingQueen Anne'sDomain annexation byKing County- finally ending all previous moves made inside Municipal Building No2 across 5 different locations!
The port of Angeles was founded by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1804. The first ship to dock at the port was the Olympia in 1806. The town of Angeles grew up around the port, and it became a major commercial center in the region. In 1916, the city of Angeles merged with Kingman to form a new city.
