Oak Harbor is a town in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,083 at the 2010 census. It is part of theSeattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metropolitan area. Oak Harbor's history dates back to 1892 when it was named after Captain John A. Oak of the sailing vessel "Oregon" and his family Timbers who had come from Portland, Oregon to found a trading post in what is now Grays Harbor County. In 1932, the community of Cherry Point was established adjacent to Oak Harbor on Cherry Island (later renamed Orcas Island). In 1935, the town of Whidbey Island annexed Cherry Point and Orcas Island into Whidbey Island Borough; however, both island municipalities continued to use their own currencies and education systems until 1959 when they were amalgamated into Seattle as part of the city's annexation by Tacoma. The first gun light company in Oak Harbor was organized on October 14th 1892 by Captains John A. Oak and George Withers under license from Queen City Gunsmiths Company No 2 which had been established in Tacoma two months earlier. The first light company rifle team coached by Captains John A.Oak and George Withers played their first game against Nisqually Indians on October 25th 1892 at North Park Field located near present day Cheney Elementary School where they lost 4-2 with many players playing fornia or local teams during those early years including Captains Jno’Aoak and Gwede Swanepoel who later became Mayor of Tacoma (1896-1900), Vice President of Northwest Territorial Railroad (1901-1905) & Assistant Attorney General for Public Affairs (1906). One account has stated that “Captain James Cook [of HMS Endeavour] stopped off at anchor while flagship USS Olympia sailed past him on her annual visit to Puget Sound September 3rd 1800” so Captain Cook may have been involved with firearm regulation back then! By 1893 there were 6 gun lights companies operating throughout Grays Harbor County although only 2 still practicing today! They all possessed metal detectors which allowed them to confiscate any firearms not registered with government contractor Kingman Arsenal which acted as an armory for these companies! In 1902 Captain James Cook visited Grays Harbour County again when he commanded HMS Discovery during her annual cruise through Puget Sound from May 21st thru June 9th . He hauled down a large copper plaquelexecuting instructions given by Commodore Perry onboard ship about gun regulations being enforced along side trophy fish presented to him by Princess Victoria Eugenie Of Canada aboard ship - one reminder that our predecessors cared deeply about protecting this region we call home today! As captain Cook’s visits continued throughout 1903 other vessels such as USS Constellation(Cdr Samuel Eliot Morison)and USS Bryant(Lt Cdr Augustus Hickey) toured the area visiting various ports providing ammunition storage areas etc.. On July 20th 1904 issue of Daily News newspaper announcing changes taking place within our county due largely to finances caused by high taxes assessed against salmon fisheries & lumber industry ; Sheriff Clifford Ladd resigned effective 1/1/10 having served since 1889 with distinction including service as First Sergeant Major United States Army during World War I; 3rd LtGeorge Fenton relieved himeffective 1/1/11 becoming Acting Sheriff until appointment permanent 1/1/12 Ridgefield resident Harry Tilton assumed office following resignation effective 12/31/10 servingreduced time prior thereto effective 11/15/10 Glenview resident Everett Kapp appointed Interim Sheriff pending appointment permanent 12/1/$ lieutenant colonel USAF Retired After 36 Years Serving During Korean Conflict

Oak Harbor is a small town in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 7,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Roslyn–Ashland-Olympia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1884 by John and Emma Morse as a farming community on the eastern shore of Lake Union. In 1907, it became an incorporated municipality with a population of 935. In 1970, Oak Harbor merged with neighboring Ashland to form one municipality with a population of 17,813. One local attraction is the Stinson Beach Lighthouse which has been preserved and displayed since 1912. The lighthouse is also home to the National Maritime Museum which tells maritime history from pre-Columbian times through modern times. Another attraction in Oak Harbor is the USS Neuman Memorial Bridge which opened in 1984 and connects downtown Ashland to Neuman Park on Maple Street north of I-5. The bridge is named for USS Neumann (DDG-68) which served during World War II as an escort destroyer for American bombers flying over Japan.

One of the first manufacturers of gun lights was John Brown and Sons in 1825. Their product was called the Browning Rifle Nightlight. It was a small, waterproof light source that could be used to illuminate a person's path while they were walking at night. The following year, another manufacturer, Sharps and Company created a similar product called the Sharps Rifle Light. This light source consisted of two large brass lamps that could be connected together by an umbilical cord. The light would then travel up the cable and shine down on the target area below it.

Today Oak Harbor remains one of Puget Sound’s most vibrant communities with strong economic ties to both local businesses and Seattle/Tacoma residents alike - home to many high-tech companies as well as small breweries and farmers markets – making it one of America’s most diverse winegrowing regions The first European settler in what is now known as King County was Capt George Vancouver who landed on Mount Rainier on July 14th 1792 while exploring what are now Snohomish and Pierce Counties newly acquired from Russia via treaty (the same day that Russia ceded Alaska). He named his new land Puget Sound after himself however no buildings or other physical evidence remain today identifying this site until recently when photographs were taken documenting just how much later Tacoma would become their neighbor In 1851 James Wickersham purchased 640 acres north east of present day Olympia for $2 per acre giving him title to all of what became Yakima River Valley following purchase from British Columbia Company He started construction on his lonely farmstead called Wickersham House which still stands today overlooking the Yakima River outside of downtown Yakima The first post office was established at Vashon Island on December 24th 1851 when J Wickersham served as Postmaster General under President Millard Fillmore In 1865Lieutenant Colonel John Condon arrived here after being transferred from Everett where he had been Commander US Army Pacific theater during Red Cloud’s Expedition against Mexico Condon connected Elliott Bay with Lake Washington by means of an earth dam then built another year later allowing for direct ocean© shipping between lake and bay without need for route through Tacoma . Commodore George Vancouver saw this potential opportunity & ordered Captain David Dixon 2 miles wide & 8 miles long dredged out 800 feet deep just south of present day DuPont Point within 4 years starting September 1863 entry into Port Townsend specifically for military purposes connecting Elliott Bay w/Lake Washington
