Other than that, all that remains are some modestly dressed shops fronting onto busy streets full of cars driving past each day without stopping for pedestrians who must cross at busy intersections; or abandoned storefronts hidden among tall trees along busy arterial Roadsides; all evidence that one proud community once flourished while others struggled for survival (Liu 2006).
