Mukilteo, Washington is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 25,529 at the 2010 census. The Mukilteo–Snoqualmie canal forms much of the eastern border of the city and forms part of the municipal boundaries with Vashon Island. It is home to Boeing's Everett facilities as well as two major steel mills and an international airport. The first Europeans to visit Mukilteo were Jesuit missionaries in 1792. They named their new settlement "Nisqually" after a small stream that ran through it. The community grew rapidly due to commercial fishing and lumbering during the 19th century; by 1851, it had a population of 553 people. In 1881, John Nordlinger donated land for a canalside park on which he built his house, called "Nordlinger's Landing". The townspeople renamed their new community "Mukilteo" in honor of Nordlinger's donation. During World War II, Mukilteo became an important industrial center for Boeing because its sites were scattered throughout the Puget Sound area (Boeing had several plants established in Seattle). After the war ended, many businesses closed down or moved out of Mukilteo; however, some continued to operate until they ceased operations in 1990s due to competition from local companies such as Microsoft and Amazon Web Services Inc.. In recent years there has been significant development taking place around town: A large mixed-use project known as Northgate Commons was completed in 2013; north side streets have been widened and planters are being installed on most blocks near Interstate 5; and a new elementary school was announced in late 2016 will be located on South Street SE just east of Highway 99W between First Avenue NE and Interstate 5/Everett Mall Drive NW

This change in weapon technology caused firearm manufacturers to begin producing pistols instead which made it easier for civilians to purchase weapons so they could protect themselves from attackers. Pistol shootings also resumed after this due to their ability to penetrate clothing which made them less effective at taking down larger prey than rifles (Fowler). In World War II, pistols again became dominant due largely to advances in Ammunition Technology that permitted higher damage rates per shot while reducing noise levels making it easier for combatants on both sides(Galloway) . Mukilteo, Washington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,882 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County. Mukilteo was founded by pioneers in 1855 as a small station on the newly formed Puget Sound Railway. The town grew rapidly due to its location and natural resources; today it has a diverse cultural and economic base that includes agriculture, forestry, fishing, manufacturing and services. The first permanent settler in Mukilteo was George Hargrave who arrived in 1855. He built a cabin on Wabash River and named his new settlement after his home country of Scotland: Muckilton Hall). By 1860 there were 10 residents living in Muckilton Hall and by 1870 there were 20 residents. In 1875 John Alder purchased land east of MuckiltonHall from Hargrave for $2 per acre (equivalent to $ ). Alder developed this land into what is now Mukilteo by planting fruit trees, raising cattle and sheep, constructing homes and businesses around water supplies he found along the way (such as an underground cistern), logging timber nearby and developing oil shale deposits nearby which he used to produce gasoline for local autos (now used as fuel for electricity generation). Today many people still live here year-round because of its natural resources such as fishing, hunting or skiing; those activities are especially popular during the fall when leaves change color throughout the area. Mukilteo first major industry came about through development of oil shale located nearby which led to construction of an oil refinery in 1907-1910 by American Petroleum Company (later ExxonMobil) on site where present day Mukilteo High School stands. This refinery produced gasoline until it closed in 1970 due to environmental concerns brought about by production methods then being used at that time including large amounts of emissions from burning coal(s).
