Mukilteo is often mentioned alongside nearby Olympia as one of South Puget Sound’s strongest economic engines due to its steadily growing population over recent decades – with modest job growth notwithstanding – but it remains a largely rural community with few amenities beyond its core village square (the only shopping district) or two schools (one high school & one middle school). However, this demographic imbalance may begin to change soon given efforts underway by city officials to attract more jobs & investment to town while preserving essential cultural values like public artisanship & independent outlets; redevelopment proposals pending for several large commercial properties adjacent to downtown; Andrae Arena—home ice for both Seattle Sounders FC soccer team & Tacoma Dome softball stadium—which would bring new business opportunities not only for local entrepreneurs but also tourism companies interested in hosting events at either venue; Given these trendssetters—alongside continued strong support from residents & First Nations leaders alike—MukiltO will continue developing into one of South Puget Sound’s most vibrant small towns even as annexation rates increase upstream
