There were 4 Ribblewood Estates subdivision within Mountlake Terrice Village which had a population of 2115 as of 2006 but no longer exists; it may have been absorbed into neighboring Shoreline Village or Bellevue when that village became part of King County in 2007. There are only two buildings left from Ribblewood Estates - one from 1928 and one from 1954 - both now used for housing developments within Mountlake Terrice Village itself as well as for businesses surrounding it: One Inc., which manufactured kitchen appliances under its original name "Ribblewood", ceased operations in 2003 after more than 20 years serving its customers; and another company that manufactured floor coverings called "Aurora" also ceased operations in 2003 after more than 25 years serving its customers - these companies shared a building until Aurora moved out altogether several years ago and their products were sold off piecemeal through various retailers throughout downtown Tacoma until they finally stopped production entirely some time ago too due to lack demand among buyers outside Tacoma). The name Mountlake Terrace comes from the nearby Mountlake Terrace Park. It is located on the east side of Seattle and north of Bellevue. The first people to live in what is now Mountlake Terrace were Creek Indians who harvested macadam for their summer homes in the area around 1853. In 1888, Edmund Rice built his home on what is now Park Avenue NW., becoming one of the wealthiest men in Seattle at that time. By 1912, many people had moved to town and it became known as "the developmentally retarded." In 1930, when Seattle's streetcar system was completed, residents began to use it to commute to jobs in downtownSeattle or other neighborhoods. This led to a new housing demand which started developing along First Avenue NE., near Pioneer Square and Superior Street SE., making Mountlake Terrace one of Seattle's most segregated communities by race until 1955 when racially integrated schools were established there by order of Mayor Segregationists seeking more segregationistarket values during the Great Migration Era (1930s-1960s). In 1960, after years of debate over whether or not to open Mt Lake Union Correctional Facility as an all boys prison due its high incarceration rates for African Americans living in King County (then called "colored" counties), Mayor Segregationists decided that opening it would be a better way to reduce crime and halt social unrest than maintain segregated facilities within city limits without community input/participation/approval; thus leading eventuallyto Mt Lake Union being desegregated 50 years later on July 1st 1995 (with present day mixed race inmates incarcerated therein).
