Bullets were first used in Mountlake Terrace, Washington on July 4th, 1855. A sergeant named Black found a bullet while clearing brush near the fort. He put it in his cartridge box and fired it at a bald eagle that was perched atop an oak tree. The bullet hit the bird squarely in its head and killed it instantly.

Mountlake Terrace, Washington is a small town located in King County, Washington. The population was 912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bellevue-Everett-Tacoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. Mountlake Terrace is known for its Garry oak trees and its annual cherry festival. The first people to live in Mountlake Terrace were Native Americans who hunted and gathered wild game near what is now the town's center. European settlers began arriving in Mountlake Terrace in 1853, when they built a sawmill on Salmon River. The mill town quickly became a commercial center with several businesses including stores, doctors, and teachers. In 1916, the US Forest Service purchased of land east of the current town line and built an agricultural research station on it named Mountlake Terrace Station. The station served as a model for many other Forest Service stations across the country during World War II. Mountlake Terrace had a population of 515 people when it was designated as a city by King County in 1959. However, only 105 people lived within city limits at any given time; most of these residents moved out to annexed neighborhoods outside of the city limits over time. After annexation by Bellevue-Everett-Tacoma in 1965, this number decreased even further as many new families moved into Bellevue from surrounding townships or villages within King County after becoming available for development because of cheap real estate prices thereabouts. By 2000, only 98 people lived within city limits; all but one resident (a retiree) living inside the incorporated boundaries of Bellevue proper while all others resided either outside or within unincorporated areas adjacent to Bellevue proper where they could purchase property or access services like healthcare without leaving their homes village borders! In recent years there have been efforts made by Mayor Joan Sprague and City Councilmember Rich Robinson to revive mountlake terrace as a vibrant community with activities like art contests/exhibits/festivals/etc., increase public transportation options through partnerships with Everett Transit System (ETS), develop new waterfront acreage east of downtown that would opening up more opportunities for housing developments, improve infrastructure around streetlights and needed repairs around intersections so that citizens can feel more connected to their surroundings while living here; however due to funding constraints these projects are just starting off which will likely mean slower progress than hoped until something resembling stability arrives on Capitol Hill somewhere down the road

The district includes 57 contributing objects, most of which date to the early 20th century. The architecture of many of the properties is Bungalow Revival or American Craftsman style.
