As time passed more people arrived in Mountlake Terrace and began settling there permanently. In 1892, lumber magnate Jock Anson purchased much of present-day Mount Lake Union from its previous owner and founded Anson Mills here with wood from his mills in Woodinville and Issaquah counties near Seattle. This established an important industry within town until about 1950 when aluminum became dominant over wood production in Northwest industrial centers such as Seattle and Tacoma

By 1920 the park had approximately 1 million acres under management with over 150 miles (241 km) worth of loop trails throughout its four main divisions: open space/forested areas; playgrounds; sports fields; naturalist preserves including botanical gardens; lakeside homes; visitor centers; administrative buildings such as a police station; post office Building #2 became operational on May 12th1920 On October 15th 1922 King County voters approved proposition 3B which specified that all unincorporated areas within City limits be annexed into theCity by vote at an election held November 10th 1922under conditions that if any questions arise about whether any land or buildings within these boundaries belonged to either City or Townshendevelopment Districts then they should be referred back to their respective governing bodies for resolution without further delay no Later than December 31st 1922the entire unincorporated area within City limits shall become annexation territory with voting rights therein
