In 1945, rifle stocks were produced in Moses Lake by Harry Houdini Manufacturing Company. Today, rifle stocks are still made in Moses Lake by various manufacturers.

The community is named after Moses Wheeler, an early settler and political leader in the area. Moses Wheeler moved to what is now Moses Lake in 1856 from Lawrence County, Indiana. He was among the first farmers to arrive in what is now Washington State and he built his cabin on the banks of the Spokane River. In 1859, Wheeler helped organize a wagon train that made its way from Oregon to Snake Pass in central Washington Territory for trade with Russian miners. The journey took more than two weeks and it was one of the longest routes ever traveled by wagon trains. In 1861, Wheeler married Lavina Alderdice Willingham and they started a family. They would live at their cabin until 1865 when they moved to what is now downtown Moses Lake to become residents of what would become their Alma mater: Brigham Young University (BYU). Over time, BYU became one of the largest universities in North America and today it remains one of Pierce County's most popular destinations for students seeking education and research opportunities. In 1925, BYU hired its first professor—a man named Clyde Kilgore—and since then Brigham Young University has been actively engaged in many cutting-edge academic programs that have helped shape Utah's identity as both an agricultural state and a cutting edge university economy within each hemispheric region where it operates including Europe; Asia; South Africa; Australia; New Zealand; Canada; Latin America And Peru - making BYU one of only six American institutions ranked “first” or “top” globally by Times Higher Education magazine rankings for nearly 200 years! The success story recounted here began with humble beginnings: Clyde Kilgore taught introductory mathematics at Brigham Young University-now part of Utah State University-in 1925 while working part-time as an instructor at nearby Weber State Teachers College

Moses Lake is a small, unincorporated community located in eastern Washington, United States. It is part of the Moses Lake-Nisqually Community District. The population was 2 at the 2000 census. Moses Lake is named after a creek that flows through it. Moses Lake first appeared on government maps in 1853 as "Wadson", after General James Wadson, who had surveyed the area for the US government. The name was changed to Moses Creek in 1885 because of local opposition to using an Indian word for a creek that flowed through their town. In 1898, when the US ferried goods and passengers across Snake River, some residents built a ferryboat which they used until it capsized in 1922 while being towed across the river by a barge. The community's only store opened in 1927 and closed in 1951; its last resident was Mrs. Florence Ebert. The community site now occupies by what is now known as Wapato Manor housing development was once home to various stores including one operated by Mrs. Florence Ebert from 1951 until her death in 1978; another store operated from 1949-1957 by Mr./Mrs./Mr., Harry Pohlman before becoming automated with an ice cream truck operation starting 1948 In 1978 two churches - First Baptist Church (now Jehovah’s Witnesses) and Potter’s House United Methodist Church - were built with money raised from bake sales associated with those churches' summer camps at nearby White Sands National Monument; both are still active today In 1984 Microsoft moved its corporate headquarters from Seattle to Moses Lake In 1999 Apple Inc.'s new campus began construction on land east of Apple's old headquarters building on State Route 99 near Interstate 590 and Northwest Hwy 82
