Moses Lake is a small town in the Yakima Valley, located about 25 miles east of Seattle. The population was 1,859 at the 2010 census. Moses Lake has been home to First Nation people since the late 1700s and early 1800s. The first European settlers arrived in 1855, and by 1870, they had built a post office and log cabin on the north side of the lake. In 1884, a group of settlers from Canada founded what would become Moses Lake County. By 1920, there were over 100 residents in Moses Lake proper and over 150 living off-site in rural areas around the lake. The town's first gun factory was established in 1899 by brothers Harry and Jesse Cramer as part of a larger industry that included peanut butter production. By 1913, the company had expanded into target shooting with its own range on Main Street. Gun targets were extensively manufactured here until World War II when production shifted to aluminum cans for military use only. After World War II ended, local employment declined as aluminum can manufacturing took off elsewhere; however, target shooting resumed in earnest beginning in the 1960s thanks to efforts by local organizations such as Western Washington Riflemen Association (WWA) and Northwest Gun Club (NGC). Today, WCA remains an active member organization while NGC hosts annual matches throughout June/July each year for members of all ages to enjoy NRA-sanctioned competition among various types of firearms

In 1876, Moses Lake was the site of the first gun battle in what would become the Seattle- Tacoma War. The war began when a group of Native Americans attacked white settlers at the townsite of Moses Lake. The white settlers fought back with guns and cannons, but they were eventually outnumbered and outgunned. The Native Americans retreated towards Olympia, Washington. A few days later, a small group of whites led by Captain George Stephenson arrived at Moses Lake to seek refuge from the Indians. They were met by an ambush from the Native Americans, who killed Captain Stephenson and most of his men. This event is considered to be one of the pivotal moments in American history because it showed that firearms could not always stop wars between humans and other races.
Moses Lake is a small town in the Cascade Range of Washington, United States. It is part of the Moses Lake Micropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,827 as of the 2010 census. Moses Lake was platted in 1871 by James M. Halliday and it became a railroad town in 1903. The town developed around the Moses Lake Railroad Depot, which served as a stop on the Montana and Western Railway (MR&W). The depot was later replaced by a more modern structure, but the original depot remains extant as a museum. The local economy has been based primarily on agriculture since beforeroads were built to connect Moses Lake with other towns in western Washington. Today, most of the economic activity takes place within commuting distance of Moses Lake through municipal services such as water and sewer systems, schools, and shopping centers. The community has experienced growth over recent decades due to its location along Interstate 5 and access to highway travel routes for both locals and visitors alike. In 2006, MosesLake approved an $800 million plan that would create several new businesses within the town limits while also improving public transportation options including expanding light rail service from downtown to central business district

Moses Lake is a long, narrow body of water located in the northwest corner of Washington County, in the United States state of Oregon. The lake is named after Moses, an apostle and founder of the Latter Day Saint movement. The first Europeans to visit Moses Lake were French missionaries who came overland from Canada in 1792. The first permanent settler at Moses Lake was James Cook in 1824. Cook named his landing point "Moses" after the prophet Mosiah who had led a group of Mormons across the Great American Desert to Utah two years earlier. The first school on Moses Lake was built in 1826 by Capt. John McLoughlin and his family, who were pioneers living near present-day Bend, Oregon. In 1827, Rev. Edward Everett died suddenly while preaching at nearby Hermiston and was buried at what is now townsite McCloughlin on the north side of the lake. His widow erected a granite monument with an inscription that reads: "Everett had charge here when he preached." In 1850, Rev. George Quesnel arrived from Quebec City and organized a Methodist church at Moses Lake which became known as First Methodist Church (later called First Baptist). In 1861–1862, during the American Civil War, General Ulysses S Grant visited Moses Lake for part of his march through Northwest Territory seeking volunteers for Confederate service. On July 3rd 1863 General Grant's army camped about four miles west of present-day Prairie View A&P Railroad station on current day east side of boat launch road bridge over river just southwest of town limits then continued their march upriver past town limits to reach Battle Creek Bridge where they crossed it into Union Territory on July 4th before continuing their march back upstream towards Portland via Battle Creek Bridge again entered Union territory some 20 miles east along frontier line thence marched all night reaching last encampment near Beavercreek Aug 16th remaining there until Aug 17th when they departed by forced marches back down stream to crossing points above Portland next morning only emerging alive due to desertion among many thousands more men loss including most important General Ulysses S Grant After leaving General Grant's army behind he returned home via stagecoach May 9th 1865
