The mill produced flour, feed, and other products for local residents and ships to Tacoma until it closed in 1932. Today, part of the building remains as a museum open to the public called "The Christensen Museum."

Mill Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Washington. It is a tributary of the Snake River. The milling industry in Mill Creek began around 1858, when James Hogg and his sons built a dam on the creek to power their sawmill. The mill was located on what is now Mill Creek Boulevard and Bridge Road, about northeast of Seattle. By 1870, the mills had produced more than 2 million pounds (1,000 metric tons) of flour per year for local consumption and export. In 1881, Hogg's son Hugh bought out his father's share in the business and continued running it alone until his death in 1925. The mill closed in 1951 but reopened as an agricultural museum in 1984. For many years it was also home to University of Washington’s School of Agricultural Sciences research operations at nearby Snohomish County Fairgrounds before being moved to its current location near Elliott Bay in 2001.
