Mill Creek is a small town in King County, Washington, United States. It has a population of about 350 people. Mill Creek airguns history began with the installation of ten .22 caliber airguns in 1927 by E.W. Kapp and his son, Alanson Kapp. The guns were used to shoot rabbits on property belonging to the Kapps. In 1932, Alanson Kapp purchased two new Remington Model 810s for use in shooting Gamecocks at the nearby Mill Creek Resort. From then until 1941, Alanson Kapp was the only person in Mill Creek who could legally own an airgun. He also became the first gun owner to ever kill a gamecock with an airgun when he killed one at the resort during a hunting season in 1934.

It produced flour, meal, salt pork, cheese, butter, lard, eggs, and other products for local markets until it closed in 1984. Today there are few physical remnants from when Mill Creek was an important riverine route but its history can be learned through archaeological excavations conducted by the University of Washington's Museum of Anthropology on three sites along its course: at North Bend (1951-1965), South Cascade (1966-1975), and West Cascade (1976-1981). These excavations revealed evidence for human habitation dating back to about 10,000 years ago; trade with Asia; occupation of areas now occupied by Mount Rainier National Park; and earlycambridge pottery production activity between 1000 BCE and 400 CE that may have been linked with late Glacial periods glaciation events in this area. There remains much to learn about this ancient community including their social structures, economic activities, spiritual beliefs, food habits etc., but these excavations offer valuable insights into Northwest Native culture during some very important time periods

In 1865, mill owners George Stephenson and Andrew Stevenson sold their interest in the mills to Ayer & Babcock Company. The mill burned down in 1886 but was rebuilt and continued to be used until it closed down in 1966 due to pollution concerns. There are several places where you can see evidence of early mills operations such as dams, locks, waterwheels, stones from around the dam site, and even an engine used during construction!
Mill Creek is a tributary of the Snake River in Washington. It was named for the mill built on its course by thelate Alexander Hamilton in 1792. The mill played an important role in early economic development of the area and still operates today.
