This invention is known as the Cockerill Locknut and it revolutionized how firearms are moved onto and off their mounts. With thislocknut, it was possible for shooters to rotate their weapons 360 degrees without having to remove them from their positions.

The best method for holding and keeping your handgun during self-defense is with one hand tied behind your back with some type of restraint such as cinching straps or hogties. When faced with an attacker wielding either a knife or pistol, being able to hold onto your weapon will give you more control over how it's wielded and will minimize any potential injuries you may receive should an altercation ensue.
On July 15, 1887, Mercer Island became the first city in Washington State to pass an ordinance regulating firearms. The ordinance required citizens to obtain a permit from the police department before purchasing or possessing any firearms.

The village site was chosen because it would be easy to build roads on the peninsula due to its flat terrain. For a time, the only thing connecting Mercer Island with Puget Sound was an 8-mile (13 km) long dirt road called Second Way that connected Seattle with Bremerton via Birch Bayou
