Marysville is a small town in Washington State. It is located about 30 miles south-southwest of Seattle and about 25 miles east of Tacoma. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. The first people to live in Marysville were the Nisqually Indians. In 1851, the Washington Territory was created and Marysville became part of it. The first store in Marysville was built by Wm. H Wilson and opened on December 6, 1853. In 1886, Mrs John Flanders founded an agricultural school which taught children how to farm. The school closed in 1915 but reopened as a library in 1962. Marysville has been occupied by different groups of people over time: Russians, Japanese Americans, Europeans (mostly Scandinavian), American Indians (Alaska Native), and Chinese immigrants since its founding. It was not until 1913 that the first post office was established in Marysville with George Wampler as the first clerk. The community developed around two railroads that passed through it: the Western Union Railroad and Northern Pacific Railway. These companies depotized their trains at various locations within town, including on Main Street and Second Avenue where commercial businesses grew up along with residences; these include Alice’s Store (1897), Mrs Flanders’ School (1915), Brownies Bakery (1925), Igloo Hotel & Cafe (1930) and Best Buy Co.(1997). During World War II, many men from MarysVILLE served in the military or were drafted into service; some notable residents include Dick Cheney Sr., Everett Dirksen Jr., Gary Teague, Debra Payne etc.; most notably however Sgt Leroy Janssen who died during battle near Chinook Pass while serving as a trooper with Company C 4th Infantry Regiment 36th Infantry Division on October 15 1945 .

Marysville is a small town in the Yakima Valley of Washington, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Yakima County seat and the larger Marysville-Wahkiakum area. The community is located on the Yakima River about south of Seattle. It lies just east of Interstate 5 and north of Highway 99. The ZIP Code for Marysville is 88834. A post office called Marysville was established in 1887, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1963. A store and other buildings were built there in 1896; these are now gone but their foundations remain as part of a park across from the high school. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Marysville were farmers who decided to move to this area because of its fertile soil and good water resources. In 1905, they pooled their money and erected a sawmill onthe riverbank which still stands today. They also started trading goods with nearby towns such as Wenatchee and Kelso on account of having easy access to timber that grew hereabouts. In 1915, when statehood was granted to Washington, residents voted to incorporate as a town under the name "Marysville." On March 12, 1922, more than two hundred citizens assembled at the town hall for approval of an ordinance defining certain corporate aspects such as hours for business purposes and how ballots would be cast; it passed unanimously (although some residents wanted more autonomy). In 1923–24 there was heavy crop failure due to bad weather conditions so much so that some people moved away from town; by 1929 only six people lived there full time while 350 worked at various businesses within or nearby communities including Seattle (where many persons had hoped capital improvements would create new jobs). In 1946–47 when word spread about serious uranium mining activity being carried out northeast by Messrs Carlson & Aschenger near Wenatchee then known as Scammon Hill uranium campground locals began moving back into town seeking assurances that nothing harmful would happen during their absence; within one year over 200 had returned living among friends and family where they continued working until 1959 when all traces of those days long ago vanished beneath snowdrifts! By 1957 most everyone had migrated away again leaving behind just four dwellings: three churches plus an old fashioned schoolhouse which served as stabling ground for cows until 1985 when it burned down due to vandalism! Today 'Moses' Lutheran Church remains standing vacant next door serving not only local congregation but visitors since 1975! With current population numbers continuing below 2000 per square mile – something has definitely changed since 1958!!!
