The community was founded in 1851 by George H. Marys, who arrived from England with his family and named his new settlement after his mother's birthplace, Marystown, in Northern Ireland. Additionally, several restaurants and businesses have opened up in recently vacated buildings near downtown since 2007 when Interstate 5 was realigned through town making it easier for pedestrians to get around without having to cross busy highways Marysville has been home to various Native American peoples for centuries including many Chehalis who lived along both sides ofthe river before moving upstream towards present day Spokane County (and today’s Blaine). One notable site where excavations are ongoing is what is now known as “Dog Rocks” off HWY 99A about 2 miles south of town on State Route 9W between milepost 16 and 17 above mean sea level dating back over 4500 BC! artifacts recovered from this location include stone tools (blades), spears & arrowsheads., animal bones & tooth fragments., pottery shards (6 sherds) some complete (& 3 damaged), human remains &nameless figurines associated with cultic ceremonies inside or outside Lava Cave ! further excavation will be conducted here over coming years!

The population of Marysville grew rapidly during the early years of its existence and by 1871, it had reached 514 people. In 1907, the city of Yakima annexed Marysville and formed a new municipality with a population of 1,711 people. In 1924, Yakima annexing rural areas to form an expanded city boundaries resulted in an increased number of residents living within the newly created city limits as well as an increase in business opportunities for residents within the annexed neighborhoods outside of the city limits. The annexation process for rural areas continued until 1959 when all but one village were annexed into Yakima City limits- leavingMarysville as an isolated rural community once again. With only 10 residents living inside the borders of his old village boundaries and 350 residents living outside them on neighboring farms and ranches, Mr. Fenton decided to sell his properties to developers in order to allow development within his boundaries once again
Marysville is located in Eastern Washington, just east of the Canadian border. It was founded by George Vancouver in 1792 as a trading post on the Columbia River. The town grew rapidly during the 1800s, and it became an agricultural center with large cotton plantations and many small businesses. Marysville changed hands several times during its history, including twice between Swedish and Mexican claimants to the area. In 1853, Marysville was moved to its present location on the Spokane River after nearby Walla Walla was renamed Seattle.
