Marysville was founded in 1857 by wagon drivers and loggers who brought over logs from the Columbia River Gorge to build a cabin on an bluff overlooking the harbour. The town grew quickly and soon became an important stop on the Pacific Railroad. In 1879, Marysville was chosen as site for what would become the first local high school; it opened in 1881. In 1910, Marysville's first post office opened. The community has experienced few major changes since its founding – until recently, most residents have been farmers or their families have operated small businesses – but it has seen advances in education, industry and culture over time. Many of these advancements can be traced back to John Aiken, who donated land for a primary school and then created Pioneer High School – one of the first public high schools in King County – in 1922. Today, Marysville remains one of the most proudly rural towns in Washington State; its citizens are known for their produce crops and cattle grazing; they also enjoy fishing and swimming on Lake Washingtonbisland (the largest body of water on Mount Rainier). Despite its remote location, there are many opportunities for cultural experiences within walking distance of downtown Marysville: art galleries across town near Main Street (where artists sell work), breweries nearby including Capitol Hill Brewery & Ale House (a must-try www., offering rotating seasonal beers), history museums - including both inside/outside locations such as Northwest Museum of Anthropology which features exhibits about local Native American cultures as well as displays about Mount Baker erupting - all located close to storefront restaurants that serve traditional Yakima Valley cuisine like Yakima Pie or Salmon with Cheese Fries!

Marysville is located in the state of Washington and is part of the Yakima Valley. It was founded in 1847 by Captain George Vancouver as a trading post on the Columbia River. The town grew rapidly due to its location, good soil, and easy access to water resources. By 1865, Marysville had 2,500 residents and was one of the largest towns in the region. In 1892, Marysville became a city and remains an important local center today. The town was named for General James K. Polk who served as President during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). After Polk's death in 1849, his widow visited Marysville and recommended the name for her new town next to her home on Mount Vernon Island in Puget Sound. The general's widow donated nearly $10,000 to start what would become Marysville. In 1847, Captain George Vancouver set up a trading post at present day Marysville on Columbia River banks due to his concerns about scarcity of food supplies along the coastlines of British Columbia and Alaska. The area now known as Yakima Valley was sparsely populated at that time with only scattered villages scattered around small hills near present day Seattle and Tacoma areas respectively So it wasn't until 1863 when prospectors discovered rich copper deposits nearby that began moving into this area When gold was first discovered by prospectors further east near Seattleites in 1859 those same prospects were abandoned because there seemed to be too much competition from those miners . However over time different companies formed teams which started operating between these two sites trying find new veins while also exploiting others found nearby such as coal seams closeby so eventually silver discoveries were made too which led people from far away like Oregon boarding boatloads of men headed down river hoping they could strike it rich . however no one ever did .. until Brigham Young came along
On November 3, 1855, Marysville was founded by wagoner George Washington Stephenson. The town was named after General Maria Hill, an American general who fought in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War. The first store in Marysville opened its doors on December 8, 1855. By 1865, there were 11 businesses in town and a population of around 100 people. In 1861, Marysville became the capital of Washoe County after it was chosen from a selection made by U.S. Senator James Fenton. In 1865, John Sibley built the first post office in Marysville and served until 1886 when he moved to Reno Nevada. In 1902, Abraham Lincoln oversaw construction of the first schoolhouse in Marysville which served as both a public school and home for local farmers during his time as President of the United States. In 1916, Wanda Ladd started her own dry goods store at 12th Street and First Avenue which would eventually become one of Washoe County's most successful businesses. Marysville experienced significant growth following World War II with several new industries such as aluminum production being established along with new housing developments such as North Park Village which stood tall against development pressures for decades to come until bulldozing began in the early 2000's
