In 1965, voters approved annexation by Snohomish County of much of neighbouring Olympia; this led to the growth of nearby Bellevue and Everett as separate municipalities withinSnohomish County (the former Bellevue incorporated into Everett in 1998). The opening day for students at Redmond Community College was September 5th 1961 under then-President John F Kennedy with many young people from across western Washington attending what was then only an agricultural college campus located near Lake Union (later renamed Seahawks Stadium). Today’s school offers more than 12 undergraduate programs leading to certificates and/or diplomas from over 150 colleges and universities around the world!
