Lynnwood, Washington is home to the United States’ first rifle stock factory. The factory was founded in 1871 by John A. Farrell and his son, Frank W. Farrell. The company made rifles for the U.S. military and police forces until 1959 when it closed its doors forever due to economic trouble. Today, the site of the former factory remains a haven for shooters in Lynnwood, as well as for historians who study firearms history in Washington state. The rifle stock industry in Washington started out small with only a few manufacturers producing stocks for guns used by soldiers and law enforcement agencies. However, over time production increased and more companies joined the market, making rifles that could be sold throughout the United States. In 1860, Congress passed an act authorizing the manufacture of rifled artillery pieces which would soon lead to the development of rifle stocks within America. In 1851, it was annexed by Seattle as part of a larger settlement known as Territorial Park. At first glance, it appeared that much of whatlies now within Lynnwood boundaries were developed only recently: Most notably, Interstate 5 runs through town (and has been used for agricultural purposes ever since), while several blocks of downtown are still undeveloped today despite being around for centuries. In 1863, when Washington Territory was created from parts of Oregon and Idaho, Lynnwood had just 1 residents – John Whitman – but soon boasted over 100 properties with 20 miles (32 km) of road system and an additional 50 lots for sale or leasehold ownership (the vast majority were along Third Street). With technology starting to take hold as one of America’s “new frontiersmen” during this time period, many saw opportunity in developing land near Puget Sound where railroads could be built into new markets both domestically and abroad. By 1871 alone, businesses had opened up shop in such burgeoning towns as Everett and Tacoma-Everett which each had a population over 10 thousand people! As more families moved into these towns during this time frame they started buying property further away from center due to technological advances like railways making transportation easier then ever before - something which would continue throughout much of twentieth century until our current day economy takes hold once again! One such early developer who capitalized on this boom was George Mitchell who purchased 640 acres east of downtown for $5 per acre back in 1875 - thus resulting in his incorporation under name "Lynnwoods" Ltd., one half mile northwest off Third Street! This growth continued unabated well into World War II when much activity took place within those borders due largely to wartime production needs! However following hostilities ended all industrial production ceased although some small farmers did manage to sustain themselves with agriculture until recently because there are currently no large-scale manufacturing plants located within any radius proximate unto Lynnwood limitsNC The region has experienced significant job growth thanks largely To companies like Amazon who have chosen not onlyto locate here but also invest heavily in infrastructure development including highway expansions NC

It is the only incorporated city in King County and has a land area of just over 10 square miles (25 km2). The first permanent European settlers arrived in 1851 when John Jacob Astor founded the town of Lynnwood on his estate near Bothell. The first post office was established in 1865 and the first school was built in 1892. In 1907, Lynnwood became the second town in King County to be incorporated. The city's location on Puget Sound made it an important port for navigation during early Spokane Valley civilization and its growth as an agricultural center during World War II led to increased trade with Asia and other parts of the world. One result of this trading activity was creation of many jobs throughout Lynnwood including many that remain today as management or technical workers for businesses and government agencies across Washington state. In 1971, after annexing neighboring Des Moines Township, Lynnwood became one of 41 cities or towns in Washington State to become self-governing through Charter Amendment No. 3 with full voting power within its own governing body known as "city council". With growing concerns about sprawl and changes taking place throughoutKing County due to explosive population growth; City Council passed a Resolution urging county officials to establish policies intending to limit sprawl which have since been implemented statewide by both King County Executive Dow Constantine and Mayor Tim Burgess effective January 1st 2016
Lynnwood is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 25,651 at the 2010 census. It is the rural Moorestown suburb of Seattle's largest metropolitan area. Lynnwood was once one of Puget Sound's most populous cities with over 100,000 residents before its annexation into Seattle in 1959. The first permanent settler in what would become Lynnwood was Nicholas Swope and his family from Virginia in 1847. They came to land that would be donated by John Jacob Astor to create the town of Lynnwood on July 14, 1851. In 1857, a small community called Northlake developed around where the current downtown now stands on Lynden Road near Northwest Expressway. larger than any other settlement east of Puget Sound until it merged with Lynnwood in 1959, Northlake had only two buildings and no paved roads when it started to grow rapidly around 1860 due to increased freight traffic along Interstate 5 and access to timberlands north of Lake Washington via Lynden Road. When I-5 and the new Aurora Bridge were built through Lynnwood in 1957-58, much more commercial development became possible as well as growth for both therawn workforce and students commuting into downtown Seattle via buses or carspooling across state lines during those years
