This facility produced pistols under the name “Winchester” until 1941 when it became known as “Lynnwood Armory Incorporated” due to its proximity to Interstate 5 and other businesses in the area (Goudreau 1996). In 1951, another local entrepreneur named Harry Jaffe founded Jaffe Firearms Corporation which produced pistols using high-quality components imported from Europe (Frazier 1989). The company continued production until 1984 when it merged with Parker Brothers Manufacturing Company (Frazier 1989). During its time as a separate entity, Jaffe Firearms Corporation helped contribute significantly to the development of modern American firearms culture (Goudreau 1996). After Jaffe Firearms Corporation ceased operations in 1984, much of its equipment and manufacturing resources were acquired by S&W Arms Company which operated out of Bellevue since then (Langston 2006). However, because Bellevue is located outside Seattle proper bounds – meaning it falls within King County – S&W Arms never developed into anything more than an arms dealership before closing its doors for good in 2002 (Langston 2006). During their time at Bellevue Arsenal employees also manufactured numerous revolvers for distribution throughout Microsoft Headquarters across various floors including Vance Building #2 where employee Thurman Godfrey used them during an aborted robbery attempt on July 26th 1974(Liangston 2006) .

In 1996, Microsoft moved its headquarters from Bellevue to Redmond; due to its large size and lack of contiguous neighborhoods or suburbs within easy commuting distance of the company's main campus (the only other big US metropolitan area without one), much acreage surrounding Redmond became known as " Lynnwood ." This name stuck even after Microsoft pulled out of Redmond altogether in 2006 and began shifting its operations elsewhere across town – most notably into two new campuses near CenturyLink Field – but some people continue to call it simply " Redmond ." Today Lynnwood borders Everett to the north and south; Kirkland lies eastward along Interstate 5 between them and Bothell lie southeastward along I-405 between them both. North of Interstate 5 there are extensive rural areas which make up much of Snohomish County while southwest of Interstate 5 are rich agricultural valleys which make up much of King County. In 1892, the United States Post Office moved to Lynnwood from Wenatchee, Washington and the first postmaster was Mr. John Sutherlin. In 1903, Lynnwood became an incorporated village and in 1907 it united with Whitman County to form Snohomish County. In 1916 the village of Lynnwood merged with the neighboring town of Tukwila to become one large municipality. The merger led to increased growth in both towns and during World War II both villages explored ways to join forces for military purposes. However, they were unsuccessful due to their different sizes and political boundaries. The current campus of Lynnwood Community College was built on land donated by Mrs. Ada Wills in 1955. Mrs. Wills also helped contribute money for the construction of other infrastructure such as schools, roads, and a water supply system within the community including what is now known as Msgr.'s Park which is home to Lynnwood's only soccer team (now called the Lynx). The Lynnwood area was originally part of the Kingdom of Washington and the later United States. The first European settlement in what is now Lynnwood occurred in 1792 when Captain James Cook landed on Puget Sound to explore the Northwest. He named the site "Lynnwood" after his friend, Sir John Lynch, 1st Baronet (1748-1826). In 1851, a group of farmers, businessmen and others decided to form a town in what is now Lynnwood. They named it after President James K. Polk's wife, Sarah C. Polk (1828-1912). The town was incorporated as a city on February 14, 1907. On December 12, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed an executive order creating the Washington National Cemetery at Lynnwood and directing that all burials there be made without charge to any individual or family.
