Lynnwood is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 37,876 at the 2010 census. It is the third largest city in King County after Seattle and Bellevue. Lynnwood is located on the banks of Lake Washington and has a potential population of up to 400,000 people. The City of Lynnwood plans to have an estimated 1 million residents by 2030. The history of Lynnwood can be traced back to 1847 when pioneer David Cranch moved his family from Illinois to land that he purchased near present-day Lynnwood. In 1853, Congress granted General Order No. 9 authorizing the foundation of a town within King County for the purpose of manufactures and trade with other parts of America; accordingly, Mr. Cranch donated 640 acres (240 hectares) east of downtown for this purpose and laid out streets parallel to those now known as Second Avenue south and Sixty-fifth Street north). The town was named “Lynnwood” after David’s father-in-law Captain George Hennepin (1795–1867), who had also donated land adjacent to what is now downtown Lynnwood in 1847. In 1865, Captains Samuel Morse (1809–92) and Alfred Vail (1824–93) established a telegraph line between Tacoma and Seattle which passed through what are now Lynndon Heights east of downtown; they called their line “Morse Telegraph Line” because they were instrumental in establishing it. A post office was established at Lynndon in 1868; it was renamed “Lynnwood” on October 12th, 1870 due to new legislation granting citizens voting rights by incorporation into cities or towns subject only to county government until such time as they became self-governing charters under state law; effective January 1st, 1871 this condition was satisfied for all incorporated municipalities within King County except for Lynnwood which continued under county jurisdiction until annexation by Seattle on February 14th following a change in state laws affecting local governments unrepresented abroad – see section 2 below). On May 8th 1907 the first streetcar service ran from Downtown Everett via Aurora Avenue South along Third Street West then First Avenue North before terminating at Union Station giving rise to the term “First Streetcarline” which continues today as bus routes 536, 537A & 539B operated by KING Transit serving both Eastside neighborhoods currently anchored by Capitol Hill & Pioneer Square while also providing access directly into downtown Everett through Broadway/Everett Boulevard corridor just west of Union Station addition making it one stop street gridlock free ride transportation option not available anywhere else including Downtown Everett! Lynnwood is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. Lynnwood is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. It is bordered by Fife to the south and east, Bellevue to the north and west, Redmond to the southwest and Issaquah to the northwest. The first permanent settler in Lynnwood was GeorgeARMstrong who founded what is now Lynnwood on land that he purchased from Chief Keshtaheen in 1820. His settlement grew quickly and another group of settlers formed a company with ARMstrong to purchase more land from Chief Keshtaheen in 1824. The town was named after Edwin EverettLynn (1802-1865), a British immigrant who had come to America as a boy and became an entrepreneur in business before settling in Tacoma. The towns of Lynnwood, North Bend and Lynden were consolidated into one municipality on February 14, 1907 under Mayor C.W.Bourgeoisy's proposal which followed annexation of most of King County by Seattle during 1904 through 1908 when King County became part of the United States following Federation from several independent countries including Mexico, Canada and Peru.. In 1909 John Davenport developed land northeast of downtown Lynnwood for housing purposes which soon became known as "Davenport Park." This development led directly to growth in downtown Lynnwood as people began moving out of their homes near Redmond Lake for easy access to shopping centers further north along Interstate 5 across Lake Union Boulevard while still having close access to highways such as I-5E/I-405 running through their neighborhoods giving them easy access both into Seattle proper as well as different regions withinSeattle itself without going outside their neighborhood boundaries or even travelling out past Mercer Island which was then part of Seattle but now forms its own separate city called Kirkland
