The current Townsite Act was passed on July 8, 1892 making lynnwoods an incorporated place with a government headed by a Mayor and three Councilors who would be responsible for carrying out all aspects of local affairs including public health, fire prevention, education and land use matters as well as providing police protection during times of emergency or natural disaster like floods or earthquakes. In 1896 both First Presbyterian Churches were sold to AnheuserBusch who used them as their headquarters for several years before moving out in 1924 when they acquired other assets in downtown Tacoma which they named Busch Gardens after their founder Adolphus Busch III

Polk's visit to Washington state that year. In 1865, local merchants formed a committee to inquire into ways to improve transportation in the area. They recommended constructing a road from Everett to Lynwood and developing an arsenal at nearby Lake City. In 1870, George Fenton erected the first gristmill in Lynnwood - making it one of the earliest mills in Western Washington. By 1875, lynching had become an infamous crime in America and Lynwood was one of several American towns that had started developing anti-lynching programs. In 1886, Congress passed legislation establishing a federal land grant program for Washington state which would provide many acres for development including large tracts of land around Lynnwood center. This new development increasedPopulation growth aroundLynnwood as businesses opened up and people moved into the city from surrounding rural areas. The growth in Lynnwoodsituational economy led to annexation by Seattle in 1893; however, annexation did not lead to significant social changes within the city as most residents continued living within their respective villages or farms until World War II when many people moved into downtowns throughout America during wartime efforts
