In 1915, Royall Industries merged with Jardine Matheson & Co., making it one of the largest companies ever founded in Seattle. Today Royall Industries operates as KIRO Radio Broadcasting System Inc.. In 1923, Harry Herschel opened his grocery store on 21st Street South near current Day Browning Avenue South which soon became known as Herschel's grocery store #1 due to its prominence at that location during that time period During World War II (1939-1945), Lynnwood played an important role as a munitions plant where aluminum are produced for Boeing 747s and other airplanes. After 1945 many businesses closed down or went out of business due to technological changes like videotaping and digital media which affected retail sales everywhere .
