Lynden, Washington is home to the world's only gun chokes museum. The museum is open to the public and features more than 20 firearms that have been used to choke someone. The guns were donated by residents of Lynden and surrounding towns over the years in an effort to keep their community safe from crime.

Lynden is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,898 at the 2010 census. Lynden is located on the Melrose River north of Seattle and south of Bellevue. It is part of the Bellevue-Everett metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in what would become Lynden was David Weller in 1854. He erected a log cabin on the banks of the Melrose River and named it Weller's Landing. On December 12, 1855, John Wesley Smith founded what would become Spokane Valley on land that Weller had purchased from him. In 1865, when King County was created, Lynden became part of it as well and its name changed to Lynden after General Philip Sheridan's wife Princess Louise of Hesse-Darmstadt upon his retirement from military service in 1865. In 1889, there were only 2 families living here; by 1905 there were over 20 families with a total population of 506 people. By 1910 there were only 86 people living here; by 1915 the population had increased to 1,023 people but declined to 907 by 1920 due to World War I factors such as high unemployment rates and then accelerated growth following World War II because of oil production around Lynden Lake which led to development nearby including Everett and Microsoft Field (now CenturyLink Field). During World War II many businesses moved out so that soldiers could be deployed nearer home and workers could return home during wartime; this affected Sylvania Avenue between Second Street North and Third Street North where most businesses closed down except for one store which reopened after the war as "Auromere" convenience store until 1984 when it closed again due to competition from Safeway across the street). Thereafter much development took place along Sylvania Avenue with housingomas being built near Everett while other businesses like Safeway moved away or closed as more housingomas popped up around Lynden making it difficult for small businesses like Auromere to keep afloat (in fact Safeway acquired Auromere in 1984). However since 1989 Auromere has been back in business providing groceries & general merchandise for residents & tourists alike although its hours are reduced considerably nowdays due to competition from new stores opening up around town center such as Nordstrom & Macy's which have made huge waves within our community over recent years) . It wasn't until 1968 when annexation proposal was brought before City Council asking if they would annex into Bellevue-Everett Metropolitan Area; however no vote occurred because Bellevue wanted their own city hall specifically built for this purpose instead of sharing space with Lynden which would've required an appropriation from City coffers (which wouldn't've happened without voter approval). Finally annexation did occur on December 4th 1968 through action taken by Mayor Harry Weisbrodt who argued that becauseLyden had fared poorly economically during prohibition era he felt they should be given a chance at recovery just like any other community currently struggling economically however Community Development Director Dick Kreckinger disagreed stating " Lyden isn't doing very well right now". After annexation came all sorts of problems such as traffic congestion caused by more cars coming into town then going out due mostly to drivers trying to get onto Interstates 590/5100 running past everyone else rather than taking advantage of expressways available closer into town) . However despite all these problems things are slowly starting TO improve with some developers beginning construction on new homes/condos etc.; however muchmore work needsto be done especially given how much infrastructure has still not been developed Including schools etc... The future looks bright for both Lynden AND Bellevue-Everett though

Lynden, Washington is a small town in Wenatchee County, Washington, located on the east side of the Wenatchee River. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. Lynden was founded in 1882 by John Huse and his wife Emma as an agricultural village on the east bank of the river. It became a town in 1907 when it detached from Wenatchee and annexed by Seattle. In 1990, Lynden voted to become an independent city. The first settler in Lynden was John Huse who immigrated from England in 1842. He bought land north of present-day Lynden and started farming there in 1882. By 1907, all of Lynden had been incorporated into Seattle; however, because it lay on the eastern bank of the Wenatchee River between two large metropolitan areas (Seattle and Tacoma), it continued to be known as Lynden until 1990. The rise of Boeing Aviation led to increased industry and development throughout much of Columbia Basin during World War II; this brought about heavy demand for housing close to major airports. This also led to heavy investment in transportation infrastructure including roads and bridges which continue to serve today as one reason why Lynden retains its rural feel despite its rapidly growing population: There are no major highways or expressways within easy reach of either downtown or any other parts of town save for countywide routes that connect various villages around town (such as Highway 99). Today's economy is reliant upon technology companies such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure which have their headquarters in nearby Bellevue; however, many residents commute into Lynnwood or Olympia each day for work near Seattle's campus while still having access to all thatLynden has to offer: agriculture, fishing opportunities off the riverbank (especially salmonid species such as sockeye salmon), excellent public schools with both preschools and high school programs available; ample outdoor recreation opportunities including hiking/biking/horseback Riding/skiing/ snowmobiling; quiet streets lined with homespun cotton clothing stores dating back more than 100 years;and numerous antique shops selling items from early American history up through World War II era military hardware
Lynden was founded in 1892 by two brothers, George and Harry. The first store was a general store and the second store was a clothing store. The town soon became known for its produce, meat, dairy products, and eggs. In 1927 the town added a post office and in 1957 it had its first school.
