Glock had started shooting pistols at a local range and was interested in starting a Shooting Club in Lakewood. The club met for the first time on October 20th and began meeting regularly thereafter. At that time, there were just a few shotguns in the town and they were all used for target shooting or defense against animals. The club soon became popular enough that it started hosting shotgun matches as well as handgun matches. By 1914, there were so many people involved with the club that it was renamed the Western Gun Club and moved its offices to 527 N Main Street. It continued to meet monthly until 1937 when it disbanded due to lack of memberships.

One key factor behind this recent resurgence has been Lakewood's close proximity to bothSeattle metropolitan area and Puget Sound; together they make up what some refer to as "the Silicon Valley"of North America." As such, there are many high-tech companies based in or adjacent to Lakewood; these have helped contribute significantly to its revitalization since 2000 (see: Listing#Listing1). Lakewood is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of theSeattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. The name "Lakewood" comes from the Lake Washington River and its watersheds. The first people to live in what is now Lakewood were Native Americans who hunted and gathered around the Chenaga Falls area for food. In 1853, George Stephenson built a steamboat dock on the site of present-day Seattle – Tacoma's first commercial port – which allowed goods to be transported between those two cities without having to go through Tacoma. This development led to growth in Lakewood; by 1870, it had a population of 1,500 people and was known as "the second largest town east of the Rockies." In 1872, General Order No. 6 ordered all military forces out of Puget Sound until further notice and instituted martial law in order to enforce this order. During this time period, more than 60 businesses were closed because their owners could not provide essential supplies necessary for their operations such as flour or meat due to lack of storage space or transportation available close by. In 1902, an act was passed that designated Lakewood as county seat for King County; however, no action was taken until 1911 when Sheriff Haddon appointed Maurice Latham as Supervisor of Roads and Streets within King County with instructions that he should promote racial segregation within the county including in municipalities located west of Seattle (in areas like Bellevue and Lynnview) while promoting race riots amongst black residents living east/northwest of Seattle (in areas like Auburn). However little progress was made on these goals despite Maurice Latham's efforts until after his retirement in 1928 when Earl Kemp took office as supervisor with similar instructions but much greater success moving forward integration into local communities acrossKingCounty including Lakewood where minorities constituted just 3%. A referendum held in 1932 recognized African American citizens residing east/northwestofSeattle as residents thereof rather then being treated as outsiders under white rule during which African American business owners became mayors and other elected officials throughoutKingCounty starting with Mayor Worthy who served from 1933-1945 inclusive before becoming Chief Justice during World War II. After World War II ended there continued progress although some challenges faced such as allegations that discriminatory practices still existed particularly against Asian Pacific Islanders (API) following takeovers by Japanese companies during the war years As more Asians began arriving into western King County they experienced increased discrimination both subtle and overt especially after a series of hate crimes targeting API occurred outside Vancouver specifically near Pioneer Square followed by protests against these crimes calling for justice . As recentlyblack civic leaders have emerged working towards reconciliation among diverse ethnicities withinKing COUNTY many see potential for growth opportunities associated with increasingAsianAmerican enrollment which has averaged over 50% since 2000 primarily inside KINGcounty borders making it one most rapidly growing Ethnic minority group nationally . On July 16th 2018 Shoppers Drug Mart announced plans to expand its store presence into eastern Everettia developing 2 acres next door to Everettia High School making Everettia one of only two high schools in King County served by a Shoppers Drug Mart store - along with Issaquah also joining this list later that year
