The old Post office building on Main Street still stands today and is home to the Lakewood History Museum. It was here that pioneer John L. Crouse started manufacturing firearms and ammunition back in 1892. He would continue to do so until his death in 1966. In 1905, a company by the name of National Firearms Manufacturing Company was founded by William Hogg and Jesse Winchester. This company produced pistol magazines as well as rifles and shotguns. Over time, other companies were established within National Firearms Manufacturing Company including J&B Gunpowder Incorporated which manufactured black powder rounds for handguns; American Arms & Ammunition Incorporated which made rifle magazines; Western Publishing Company which published gun issues including shotgun and rifle manuals; and finally Inland Mfg., Incorporated which manufactured handgun cartridges
Lakewood is a city in Washington state, United States. The population was 7,906 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County and the former capital of Washington. The name "Lakewood" comes from an incident on July 4, 1892 when a group of miners working for the Northern Pacific Railroad striking out from Tacoma collided with a party of local farmers on an open-air landing near present-day Lakewood Cemetery. The miners were quickly arrested and taken to jail in Tacoma. A copy of their arrest record was preserved by the Northern Pacific Railway Company, which donated it to the Seattle Library in 1923. On July 4, 1907, as part of national celebration of democracy in America, President Theodore Roosevelt delivered his State Of The Union Address from Capitol Hill in Olympia instead of from Washtenaw Bay in downtown Detroit due to construction work on Capitol Hill's new legislative building. In his speech Roosevelt mentioned that "the great metropolis [of Seattle] has lately shown itself quite capable...of serving as the permanent capital not only of our United States but also...of certain other countries". This led to suggestions by Mayor George Vancouver that Lakewood be made the new capital; however, this idea was rejected by Congress and Roosevelt chose Olympia instead (which he had previously called Chicago). In 1916 Lakewood became one of six cities across Washington state selected to participate in what was then known as The Great Depression–a time when most rural communities did not have access to economic opportunities typical for urban areas. After years during which average citizens took no active role within city government or participated actively only through protests or civil disobedience against various ordinances adopted by City Hall (such as increasing taxes), Lake wood residents rallied behind City Council member Leroy Pittman who successfully advocated for passage[1]—amending Ordinance No 3-A (from 1934)—reneging upon earlier council promise not to raise taxes again until after certification by a special committee investigating conditions within city hall following Wall Street Crash.[2] For nine years Pittman served as mayor before being elected into office again([3]) making him one personification[4][5]—and first openly gay[6][7][8] U.S. mayor—of grassroots activism within City Hall1941–1965 which eventually led directly to enactment[9][10][11] Amendments #187 and #228To Laws Of The State Of Washington Regarding Municipal Elections 1936 & 1962; providing gays & lesbians full civic rights similar to those enjoyedby heterosexuals
Gun magazines have been around since the late 1800s. In 1892, a small company called Smith & Wesson began producing the first commercial magazine for handguns. The company was soon renamed Colt and produced magazines for many different firearms. In 1903, the first revolver that fired rounds with a detachable magazine was manufactured by American Arms Company. This gun also had a wooden grip and was known as the “Army/Navy” pistol. The following year, Browning published an article in their monthly journal entitled “The Shooting of Small Game With Gun Magazines” which described how to shoot game with magazines. In 1911, Winchester produced its own magazine-fed handgun called the Model 11 Judge. This firearm used an octagonal magazine that could hold up to ten rounds. The following year saw the introduction ofthe Johnnick JHP (Japan import) which became popular in America because it fired projectiles at high speeds without causing recoil. With so many different types of firearms being made over time, there were also different types of magazines available for them all. These included denoted “stripped” or un-striped magazines which allowed users to reload quickly without having to remove each round from the magazine each time they needed to fire; marked “semi-automatic” which enabled users to operate these guns semi-automatically by depressing a firing pin when loading or ejecting rounds; and marked “fully automatic” which enabled users to operate these guns automatically by releasing both firing pins at once when loading or ejecting rounds

Lakewood was founded in 1872 by Captain Isaac Stevens and his family. It was named for the large, clear body of water that surrounded it at the time. The first post office in Lakewood was established in 1875. In 1907, the city became a county seat.
