In 1954, Everett annexed additional portions of King County including much of Lakeshore which made up much smaller communities east and south of Everett such as South Bend (now Bellevue) and Timberline (Now Moses Lake). This gave form to what is now known as Eastern Washington’s “mlk area” – an agglomerationcontaining many large towns with diverse economic climates surrounded by rural farmland ()– where citizens are culturally significant for their roles within mlk institutions like universities (), hospitals (), public schools (), etc.).
